Cool that’s where we’ll do the RT meet and greet 🤣
I'm only into meet and greets where I get paid for it, lol. I don't do the chug anyways. Someday we'll all meet in the sweet by and by.

I don't get the whole solar eclipse obsession these days. It's like paganism lite for morons. Kind of like reading your horoscope.

I didn’t either until I saw it in 2017. On my list of top life experiences. It was impactful, not really sure why. I can understand why people attribute spiritual significance to them. Since you’re already in TX I highly recommend checking it out, even going out of your way. I don’t know how anyone can go away from that thinking this realm isn’t intelligently designed.

I saw the last one some months back. It wasn't that impressive TBH. I guess if I'm around that day I'll check it out but it's not on any list of priorities for me. I need to get out back and chop some wood more than anything right now since the burn ban is off and I can toast all the brush.

This one is a totally different thing (Total vs Anular). Up to you obv but I'm telling you if you appreciate nature, you'll dig it.

I filled a 55-gallon drum with discarded wine bottles, cigarette butts, and used condoms after the last one.

Even after the hazmat suit and the dump run, I still cleared enough to buy the guitar of Nuno Bettencourt.

Lol I just checked the date for it. People are that hyped about this already? The lame duck local news has articles every day like it's the 2nd coming of Christ. I might just shun the whole deal because people are talking about it so much. If I catch it it will be incidental, not cause I went out of my way to see it.

There are a lot of protestant predictions tied to the two eclipses which basically form an X over the whole country, with their pathways centering on the "little egypt" area of Illinois. Surprised no one mentioned any of it.

I get it, but you're in the area. I was thinking about going to Mexico to see it. Tickets were 1K+ each way that week and sub two hundred the next. No thanks.

It's not that bad. The number one luxury you need for good country living is easy access to clean, drinkable water and a good way to heat it, even if it's just a big stock pot and wood fire with some grill tops to hold the pot. There is also the multi purpose dutch oven and a good tripod. I have that too. Since I didn't have an oven or a stove I bought a bayou classic 18lbs cast iron turkey cooker and did turkey on the fire for thanksgiving too. It's all possible with some careful fire and heat management.

With my cabin property I'm lucky that there are 4 sources of year-round spring water. I also have a fairly new outhouse, an older outhouse (for two) down by the river, and a very old one that probably has not been used in 20 years, but now hard to access.

What if you get a PARASITE from the water?
