Giant thread of fake stuff and things I don't believe in

I don't believe in Kiss. They blew it after the first album. When a guy in the band has the sound, he has the sound and you ride that until the end. A similar debacle to the knuckleheads behind John Fogerty in CCR.
I don't believe CCR made a good record after Fogerty left.

Greedy and jealous band mates. Fogerty had the sound. The songs. So did Ace. Saul Zaentz never made the same kinda money again on his other projects either and they were basically all funded by Fogerty's success as a songwriter and singer. He's not the most badass guitar player, but he also had a great sound going on. Like Ace. I wonder if it was worth it considering there was so much bitterness he didn't visit Tom when he was on his death bed. Seems like going camping would've worked out better.

During the period of '78 to '88 everything in rock guitar was shredding.

It got so redundant that by the time "grunge" took over rock music, everyone was ready for it to slow down, have a groove, and just be melodic.

Alternative sucks. The only band from that era I can stand to listen to is STP and AIC, neither of which I would really call alternative.

I didn't care for the hair era stuff that much but it was a million times cooler and more listenable than the suicide pact level garbage from the 90's. I don't believe in alternative rock. Nirvana and Pearl Jam make me wanna puke. I shut that right off.

We played a lot of AiC and STP tunes when I was in a cover band back in the 90's.

Love that stuff !

did you see the outfit she picked out though?

I agree it's less fantastical than reality though. There is no mystery to it. I also don't understand light sabers. Light is weightless. Why are light sabers only a few feet long? They could be infinitely long with no noticeable difference to the user, besides being more effective.

Here ya go.

Pantera and The Black Crowes are some other bands I liked. GnR had pretty much folded by 91 but I guess it qualifies as 90's music.
I remember covering "Hollow", "Cowboys From Hell" and playing them live a few times.

Never could get the guys to play a Black Crowes song though.

I would rank Southern Harmony Musical Companion up there with any of the top albums of the 90's.

I never played any of that stuff but I liked it as a listener.. I used to do Hendrix, Clapton, SRV then I quit playing rock music altogether when I started hearing other bands cover that.

I listen to all kinds of music.. stuff I'd never wanna play, or just wouldn't even be playable on guitar.

It's a material world and you have a material body and are relegated to existence here only because of it. You aren't walking out. Or flying out. You live here, you work and travel here, you die here. No space. On death since you depart from your material body you will have 3 days for your spirit to roam the earth to anyplace you delight. And then a chance to ascend the ladder through the aerial toll houses. If you have lived a life saintly enough you are allowed to pass them upward into the greater heavenly realms. Then perhaps you will have your adventure in the vastness of creation that you call space. From the teachings of Seraphim Rose and other holy fathers it is understood that many of us are caught in the lower realms and aren't allowed to pass. This is why we pray for the dead. An act of love. Good morning.

Genesis 3:19
In the sweat of thy face shalt thou eat bread, till thou return unto the ground; for out of it wast thou taken: for dust thou art, and unto dust shalt thou return.

You and I don’t agree on this, but I believe that a presence in space will certainly be a part of our future. I’m not really sold on humans living on other planets, but I do think “outer space” will be used as a resource within the next couple generations

That's because you have the secularists only hope; a utopia driven by technology.

As material bodies "our" future is only death. Man cannot transcend using his own efforts as the means. While it may be theoretically possible, it is not theologically possible.

That was very enjoyable to watch
This dude made a working lightsaber; well sort of. It's basically a portable plasma torch, but it looks cool and the build video was fun to watch. 2nd video is of it in use.

Here's a more recent one where it looks like they refined the design.

I think it’s driven out of necessity. When I say “our future” I’m talking about mankind. My children’s and grandchildren’s futures.

My personal future I believe will end when I die. Much of science is about improving generations from now. The people putting in the effort will most likely not reap the benefits.

It’s easy to ignore the repercussions when you dismiss the science, but many believe that our actions can certainly impact our planet. The good news is that if we are able to negatively impact it, we are also able to positively impact it, even if that means shitting up somewhere else in space

I believe our actions def impact the planet. I just don't think science is the answer.

The first part is Catholic rot. Completely unbiblical.
