100% this. It's pretty much what got Trump elected. It didn't even have to be Trump, it just needed to be someone from the outside who represented and facilitated an overhaul. People have finally realized the old ways aren't working and are ready for something new.

Most intelligent people realize this stuff isn't going to happen over night and it's going to take some major work. There's going to be some short term pains to deal with; tariffs, higher prices on some goods, taxes may or may not go up. But "lefties" can't ow won't look past this and project it is doom ad gloom/orange man Hitler. They fail to see these are long term strategies and in the long run things have a high potential to come out much better.

I compare it to cleaning out the giant mess in the garage that's been piling up over the last few decades. It's going to be back breaking work and you'll need several weekends to before you start seeing progress. It'd be much easier to shut the door and ignore it all, but all that pain and effort will be totally worth it. In the end though you'll have that pile of useless crap gone and be ready to convert it into your big gear space.

The garage analogy is what I think people are really hopeful for. We're hopeful the next 4 years will be those couple of weekends work where you start seeing some real progress and can visualize what all that work is ultimately moving towards; a better, stronger United States.

I actually agree with this - but I also am a realist, and would settle for just reducing the aid to israel, turning down the temperature, and getting both sides to the negotiating table. And the chances for that happening are exponentially higher with Trump in the white house than with whatever virtue signalling GloboHomo candidate.

He didn't get a chance to overhaul anything his first term. He made the mistake of trying to play nice and work with the other side to make changes. Instead of doing what's best for the country, Dems decide to pitch a fit the whole time and fuck up and/or block anything he tried to do. Despite that we still ended up with a better economy an in a better position coming out of his first term. This go around he knows better how to deal with the turds in the swamp.
