Help Me Build a Rack Rig - UPDATED 12/7/2011

Greetings :)
Found time to work on the rack again last night. I also found the power adapter for the Midiverb III, so I routed and secured the power cord for it and then shortened the power cords for the rest of the devices and installed the plugs. After I was done, I plugged in the PDU and everything lit up like it was supposed to. Apparently no electrons were harmed in the building of the power cords. Once again, it's not brain science, but it's progress.

Another step closer to

Questions and comments welcome

Show us the front, you tease ;)

Would be nice if you could update the threadtitle when you have updates, by the way. I've been clicking past it for ages beliving that the last update was almost 20 days ago. :aww:

Greetings :)
Here's a picture of the front. Keep in mind that the space at the top will house a tuner, the two spaces in the middle will be covered with a plate (for future effects expansion) and I will be installing a slide-out shelf just above the power amp to house some stomp boxes.

Sorry about the title - I was editing it, but on subsequent posts. I guess I need to edit the original to update the thread

Thanks for looking

Once again, it's not terribly exciting, but I finally got a sliding shelf and got it installed today. I'm mulling over what pedals I'll want in the rack and once I have that nailed down, I'll start getting them mounted and cabled. It's not huge progress, but it's progress...

I forgot to take pictures of the Korg tuner I bought and installed recently (thanks Jeff  ), but what's more exciting is the pair of Avatar 2x12 cabinets I ordered on Monday. With luck they'll be here next Monday. Looking forward to un-boxing those babies

Thank you, sir. It's not much, but I'll take any progress I can get. Life (as in multiple overseas business trips...) has gotten in the way of devoting time to the project. Fortunately, one more trip in October should do it for the next several months and I can get back to fun stuff

cept for the ten pointer....he's keeping that!

Made me think about that one

I was walking around the man cave counting knobs,eq sliders, buttons on the GCP and then sat back on the sofa going what the F*ck and then……

:hys:

OK... It makes sense now that I look at your Avatar. I was thinking  and figured it must have been an inside joke (and I was outside)

I needed some cables to start routing the audio side of things - specifically, Eleven Rack --> EQ --> Power Amp. They were delivered today, so I spent some time getting them installed. I still need to decide which stomp boxes I want in the rack, get them mounted on the shelf and cable the loops through the GCX. The cables I just got were pre-made, but I plan on making custom-length cables for the items on the shelf (it should make for a neater installation and help me avoid bundling excess cable).

Once again, it's not earth-shattering progress, but it's coming together.

I also got my new speaker cabinets today. Even though I'm not quite ready to fire them up, I couldn't resist snapping a photo of the whole setup. I think it looks pretty

Get some wheels for that rack
Already on the "to do" list - it's starting to get a little "hefty"
I have a 12 sp and finally put wheels on it, made a huge difference. Get the larger big blue wheels.

My rack case is from Road Ready Cases and they sell a board with wheels that mounts to the bottom. I should have bought it when I got the case, but another $100 at the time seemed a little pricey. Now that I can no longer lift it into a truck by myself - I guess I have no choice
