Help me spot check some recorded tones? (Heavy MESA content)

Thanks man, glad it's working out! Yeah, I've always been able to dial heavy AF room tones, but getting that to translate to the mic has been a big challenge. Reamping is required & feedback here definitely helps as I'll just get ear fatigue after a while.

I actually haven't updated the settings pics since the beginning of the thread. I just updated that folder to my current favorites.
Yeah your tones are vicious man. I dig your riffs too, great shit. Thanks for updating the folder, I'm just used to the c+ mode and couldn't get my head around the ++ mode yet, havent had much time. Your settings are bad as hell. Looking forward to trying the updated ones.

Yeah sure thing. This cab is an extra for me so I think I'll just leave the cab & mic set up semi-permanently.

nice! I honestly have never gotten along with marks or rectos, but i'm curious if someone else is dialing it in, if it works

Plus it will be cool and different to do a mix with a guitar tone wildly different than i'm used to, but kickass sounding

Looking forward to hearing these results

Any specific amp or setup you want to hear?

Alright, @DanTravis62 sent me his stems and I reamped them with the IIC++ using the same settings as my favorite so far, the Limit 2 settings. I put a folder in my OneDrive under his name with the output! Main differences other than our two hands are he's playing a passive single cut where in my songs I'm playing an EMG ESP.

Man this sounds great. That main riff is so up my alley - really nice man

Thanks brother! I'm still working out the leads and harmonies, but the boogies were surprisingly easy to work with mix wise, sounds way bassier than I'm used to but I'm rolling with it!

Working on just a rough mix, still gotta record some more leads and harmonies

Thanks @GJgo For the awesome C+ reamp!

Sounds great! TBH my ears I think would still probably prefer a more Marshall-esque amp in this context (saying this a big c+ fanboi myself lol), but the c++ imo is effective here and also shows that it doesn’t just make one sound like Metallica. All about context

That may just be that you've heard a lot of my tunes, and are used to hearing Larry or other Marshally tones with them 🤔

Maybe partially that, but I think also just that I interpret that song as having a more upbeat, brighter punk-ish energy that I envision a more Marshall-y amp for, but I wouldn’t really know without hearing. Maybe I’d change my mind and say c++ still

This was all written and recorded in a huge hurry (the leads are all ad libbed in two passes!)

The lead tones do sound excellent! I did some fiddle fucking with effects to make the leads not so monotonous lol

Awesome. How do you like it compared to the amp sim?

I'd probably bring the lead up a dB or so in the mix.
