Wow. That's all I can say. Wow. You are a subject, not a free citizen. You're one step away from being a slave and you don't even know it. You exhibit no signs of self reliance, and have resigned yourself to the idea that other people know what's best for you more than you do. That's a sad place for a human to be.

I hate guns. Guns kill people. What happened to protecting yourself with an alarm system, and if that fails, a baseball bat?

A lot less permanent than a gun.

Do you have an alarm on your body? Can you carry a concealed baseball bat, legally and comfortably, everywhere you go? You are naive and/or have lived a very sheltered life. That's not a crime, but it can get you killed.

Dude, disliking guns is not being naive. I have experienced a few uncomfortable situations, and I still did not feel the need to shoot people. Get the fuck over your fascination with guns and violence Rambo. For God's sake, not every problem needs a violent solution. Guns escalate a lot of situations that needn't have been taken to that level. Are concealed weapons really necessary? Ever heard this saying, "an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure?" To translate for you gun toting neanderthals, that means avoiding situations that could potentially warrant/include violence.

Sure it's a right to own/have guns and I'm not debating that. I'm debating the fact that to you guys, it seems to be a necessity.

My ounce of prevention. It saved my life twice. I never had to fire it, point it, or pull it from the holster. Perp saw it and backed down in both attacks. Going into, and leaving my workplace, sudden, unexpected attacks.
Not everyone should own guns, you definitely should not because of your peasant, slave, victim mentality. You would become what you fear most, a killer because of your immaturity and irresponsibility.

I find that funny just because I choose not to own guns you think I am immature. To tell you the truth, my dad owns guns and I could own them if I wanted to. I have shot guns and handled guns relatively extensively, and they do nothing for me. Good job making assumptions dude, you really hit the nail on the head this time.

Peasant, slave, victim mentality? That's rather strong. I really like how you have to attack me personally because I don't want to own guns and think it is irresponsible to carry them around all the time. I'm not imposing my opinions on you, just merely voicing them. The personal attacks on my character are wholly unnecessary and shows who truly is the immature one. Just because I have a different opinion you label and judge me? Once again, you really have done a stellar job in your rebuttal.

Your response only reaffirms my statement that you are naive. Avoiding potentially violent situations isn't an alternative to carrying a gun, it's just plain common sense. But it's naive to believe that violent criminals won't bring the violence to you in a presumably "safe" place.

Do you think the people who were murdered in the recent school shootings, mall shootings, fast food restaurant shootings, etc... were being reckless and dangerous by going to school or the mall or a Wendy's?

You're another one of those people who just doesn't understand. And when the worst happens to you or someone close to you, you will be the first to say "how could this happen?"

Wow, sorry if you took it personal, was not at all intended that way. My point was that you are wrong about a violent defense is NEVER the answer, and you failed to consider that the ability and means to defend one's self is in itself a non-violent defense.
Also, the inbred culture of non-violence and passivity that you exist in would make you a dangerous and unsafe gun owner, not to mention easy prey.
I have no idea what kind of person you are, and was not refering to your personal character, but to the "religion" of passivity as a whole.

[tongueincheek] Ehhhhh. Damn hippies. It's like debating a Mormon, very difficult to nail the Jell-o to the wall. And when you do kinda make it stick, they hop on their bikes and ride away.........[/tongueincheek]

Those who think guns are evil should request an unarmed officer when they call 911. The police can show up and instruct them on how to avoid violent confrontations. If all else fails, group hug. Criminals aren't bad people, they just need our understanding and compassion and help.

Well, that was a nice little vacation from reality.

I love your condescension. Really becoming. But your Cameron threads have already proven what type of person you are, so I won't beat that point any more.

I have no problem with guns, I just don't think that guns should be the first answer when you are confronted with a problem, which a lot of people advocate them being. I have no problem with people owning guns, I just choose not to.

By the way, I'm done arguing in this thread. Obviously our prejudices will not be swayed either way by arguing, so basically this is a pointless argument.

Therefore I'm done.

Nice talking to you guys, civility can now be restored.

Can you name one person who has advocated guns being the first answer when confronting a problem? I haven't seen anyone suggest anything of the sort.

Your an ignorant fool who has no idealogical merit. Get your head out of your ass, see the future and accept that excusing your governemtns incompitance as giving you 'choice' and 'freedom' is holding your country back. If you get cancer and you have public health insurance and no savings how free are you? How much choice do you have? NONE. If you do that in a socialist country at least you have the option of a good, stable healthcare that provides for you. To me thats a whole lot better than being satisfied with my 'choice' while I waste away.

Socialist countries still vote, they still have independance. Your just too ignorant or stupid to see their merit. I guess since they are outstripping the us in EVERY WAY, it couldn't possibily be a genuine and valid form of governement, least of all THE MOST EFFICENT FORM ON THE PLANET.

If you cannot trust your elected officials not to take advantage of you and screw you over, as opposed to doing their job and upholding their oaths in office thats a sadder place to be then a country that is, compared to the current governemntal sham in the US, flawless.

Instead of idiotic rants about the virtues of socialism, what this thread needs is more pics.

I just got a 32 round magazine for the 9mm Glock.

My next gun is going to be an AR of some type. I haven't decided all the details of what specs I want but I'm getting one. Especially if Obama or Clinton win in Nov. By mid december I'll have at least one and a lot of magazines. :gethim:

I'm using a Stag lower receiver with a J&T Parts Kit. The Stag lower receiver is wonderful quality, as is the J&T kit. My rifle cost me under $700 to build, IIRC. Keep in mind, I built it like 3 years ago, so prices may have changed.
