Bob,

I don't know if it's the amp, something in your signal chain or something you're doing differently but I have to agree with everyone...this is GREAT tone. I think it's the best tone I've heard from you to date...EXCELLENT!!!

Dang guys, I guess I'm on to something here...

OK...just don't use it anymore :D ...or I'll pin you.

Seriously, that rhythm tone sounds inspiring to play and write with...like as in, a new Savage CD.

Oh, this setup is absolutely going to end up on the thrash CD this year!

I'm thinking it's a bit of both. I bought some new preamps and am certain that's helping some, but this amp just sounds killer so I'm sure that's contributing too.

does doug r regularly mod amps? with that clip, i could imagine a spike in biz

Hey Bob, what mic's and mic pre's do you use when recording, your clips always sound awesome.

This is the first work Doug's done for me and I'm very, very pleased with his work on this amp. I give three thumbs up.

For this the chain was:

Vigier Excalibur Custom (Duncan Custom/Jazz) -> Bloody Murder OD -> JMP -> Bogner OS 2x12 -> SM57/MD421 -> Sebatron vmp-4000e -> RME Fireface (line in) -> Samplitude 10.01

Hahaha, well, I used the same drums but I wanted to change it up as well as try the DI on the Sebatron for bass (very pleased too, actually).

Yep, I'm working with the Weapon 13 guys to get a full-length OS thrash album going. Keep your fingers crossed, you know how these things can go sideways in a hurry. :D

Sounds killer Bob!!!

LOL! Not from me but Doug did play a little Unchained through the amp when I was over there. Does that count?

I'm pretty confident this project will come through. The other three guys are very motivated to get one done and I'm actually looking forward to it too. Of course this is how we usually feel about all our projects, but I have a feeling I'll be able blow the production quality of Retrofitted out of the water this time around.

I'm absolutely loving the Sebatron. I also picked up another lower cost tube pre that I've used at a friends house to capture some very nice guitar tones. It's the TL Audio 5001 Ivory. Like the vmp-4000E, it's 4 channels and in my opinion is an incredible value for the price. It's not a Sebatron but for about $400 used, it's only $100 a channel for nice sounding preamps.

I finally got logged in!

Glad you guys like the clip, Bob kicks ass as usuaul.
As far as amp mods go, yes I've been doing mods
for many years and don't see that changing anytime soon.
What I did to his was tune it for more midrange OD.
The amount of preamp gain is still stock,
but the mids have been brought up.
We'll boost the gain on the next visit.
