Cool tone! I kept waiting for Spinal Tap to come breaking out of their pods in the beginning...

LordofChaos on this forum (I hope I have his moniker right).
I just installed a Duncan Distortion in the place of the Custom in my vigier. I'm going to attempt to re-record the guitar tracks tonight to compare the differences in pickups. We'll see...

Duncan Custom
Marshall JMP and Bloody Murder OD
Duncan Distortion:
Same everything except with a Duncan Distortion pup

I listened last night and while there's a little something about the Distortion I do like, I just cannot get around my love for the custom. In this particular clip, there's a certain smoothness I really like about the Custom. The Distortion may be better for the thrash project because in my opinion it has a more "raw" sound to it, but it looks like I'll again be putting the Custom back in my Vigier. I think I'll throw the distortion in my Mason Bernard though, since it's got Dimarzio Evo's and I'm certain I prefer the Distortion over those.

For thrash tones I think the Distortion pickup will RULE.
But for overall sound, I personally like the custom better!
I still want that HUGE shell in the pic...lol

I'm actually thinking that with slightly more top end at the amp, the Custom will be just fine for the thrashin'! Plus, I'm going to drop the Custom in my Mason Bernard which I think will make it sound far better than it does now with the Evo's in it. I've already pulled the pick cover from the Vigier... time to fire up the iron.
I think Doug can make you a GIANT head shell.
