King of Clone 68 pedals kicks pretty hard!

So this pedal is as tight as a Boss SD1…
So far, I haven’t found anything that comes close to being as tight as my 1986 TC electronic Booster / line driver / distortion or my 1981 Boss SD-1 in front of old Marshalls…
I bought a mosky Golden Horse (on advice from someone on here) just to try out and I don’t know if anyone thinks this thing is OK but it’s a piece of crap, absolute ‘garbage mush’ in front of an overdriven Marshall. It’s going back. Although, for $29, what do you expect…

Yeah good point. I do think they all come out of the same place and are made by a few guys but going to the source is probably the way to go. I bought from my phone and saw a bunch listed I figured they were all from the same guy. Should got on the PC. Oh well, still rocks. Mine on the inside says to put both OD and Dist toggles on for HighGain so I suspect the two switches on the side just bypass the 4 position on the main board and puts in the ON position on both sides.

The switch’s on the side add even more to the sound and have nothing to do with the diode clipping switches. I leave them on for both sides.

Dave, do you like this pedal with your 67?

The good think is the internal trim pots are turned off... so its easy to go back to the original sound. I turned mine up less than 1/4, but with the high gain settings a little treble really adds aggression. With my stock JMP I prefer this clone over every other pedal including the Standout. I have another clone from 68 pedals coming in a few weeks.

The tightest boost pedal I’ve tried yet would for sure be my Protone Dino Cazares, but might be too modern or tight for most guys on here. I’ve had all the Fortin’s, Airis’s, Standout, precision drive, Highwind Direwolf, mud killer, deadweald duality DX, the other protones (2 misha mansoor versions, keith merrow), etc. and for tightness and attack it’s the best I’ve heard for that pariticular role

I’ve not tried or even heard of this 68 pedal, but have tried a real Analogman King of Tone and owned a Prince of Tone and they wouldn’t be as tight from what I remember as your SD-1, but still good tightness imo and thicker. I thought the KOT and POT sounded good, but not amazing, overrated imo, and for me and my friend’s taste lost in the shootout we did with a few other pedals I had at the time. I think the Klon was one of them in the comparison, but not 100% sure. Was a while ago now

Not according to my super duper seller who likely sold me a fake ..of a fake! I've got a clone of a clone but don't worry, because this is the message I got today :p. The sound is more perfect, you suckers are missing out!

i bought a clone of a klon from china a year ago. Junk it worked for a month. Never had a real one so.

I ordered mine from yanc-3481 lol. He sent me a message asking if I wanted the case that says KOT on it or the one labeled 68 ASE.

I have one of those Mosky Golden Horse pedals somewhere. It lasted about 2 minutes before being shelved.

Heard back from 68 Pedals about my express shipping from my Monday order. Said still a week to 10 days out on build time so I am guessing by the end of this month I should have it.

They must be turning out great business on these. I saw one listing with 80 available or so I thought. Or maybe that was sold, either way, big seller.
