Lichtlaerm prometheus- any thoughts or folks whove played it?

My only experience was their gate pedal (forgot its name lol) and regardless of the settings or even if the pedal was turned off completely, it also colored my amps I used it with with that filtered/plastic-y sound I hate (again in most recent made pedals). I'm still very curious to try their amp as I like to leave no stone unturned, but you can see why I'm gonna be skeptical going into it
Oh see i didn't play their noise gate. But their ts pedal king in yellow. The eq was really good to my ears. The headroom. Low noise. It's like a major reason why I want this amp. It's not a novel circuit. It's not earth shattering. But its been my favorite for a year.

Appreciate it man.
I haven't played a wizard. But I've messed with some other things and get it.

That being said I do like most things on your list of plastic too. I might not be experienced enough to quite hear or feel the difference.

Edit: experienced as in like tube amps. I can hear big differences. But subtly lost on me. That being said. Omega I was glad I didn't get in on despite some gas. Also while I liked dv77 I dint like the other speaker.
Yeah all good. Some amps I don't like I acknowledge have some good qualities about them too, it's just I feel there are other amps generally that have it too (if not better) minus the qualities I don't like. Of course no right or wrong here. I find for me at least it did take many years for me to hear some of the details I hear now. I think it's like that with any other hobby or obsession one has. You get more and more discerning with experience. Many amps I loved 5-10 years ago I wouldn't like now

I do think that the first time you play one of the amps on his list, youll have a "Oh, now I get it!" moment
One of these days. It's on my bucket list.

I like the sound. I love the love for it. If I played it I'd be in. I think I heard too many videos of folks not mic ing great, not capturing the room, or playing lame stuff. And fire never ignited. Just kindling with embers waiting to play myself.

It's a very, very well designed amp. It's definitely modern and you won't be getting any vintage marshall kerrang out of it, but it's also not a one-trick pony. The clean channel is quite nice, I particularly like the warm setting. The gain channel has a really nice gradual ramp from modern day orange to extremely high gain and downtuned madness via the cut and bite. Still takes a boost like a champ. And I don't think it's overfiltered sounding like I found the Uber Ultra, though again it's definitely modern voiced in the highest gain settings.

It's definitely more low mid focused than deep sub-lows as some others have commented. I find it plenty bass-y though a good 4x12, though I can imagine things feeling on the tighter side with the wrong 2x12. The LCFR sounds great with it but I don't think its required by any stretch.

What I can't overemphasize is just how well designed the controls are. Some amps make you mad trying to dial them in -- constantly teeter-tottering and fighting yourself. The prometheus, similar to the Alta 100, doesn't do that at all. The tweaks feel natural and logical. Highly recommended.
When you’re ready to sell it, let me know 😎

Thanks.
I actually have a trip sort of planned to hit up some music spots. Ksr factory in Ohio. The headfirst/monolith folks in Indiana. And good chance your wizard factory now lol.

I should have replenished funds by the time I make it there. Candidly im getting this for sure. And have something else already ordered and arriving soon that is special.

Otherwise i hsve decent credit and kidneys. Liver is no good around the holidays. Christmas ales are something else..

I like to cut to the chase lol, get the answers I'd look for myself. It takes long enough to describe what I think is the best, let alone trying to then mention the alternatives when those aren't possible lol
Oh I know man....and I wasn't throwing shade at all! :)

While I do not have your exceedingly descriptive vocabulary when talking about amps strong/weak points, I most certainly agree with alot of what you like and dislike overall.

Like with modern amps, I think they distil and filter so much out of the inspiration (eg: Recto, 5150, etc) that they lose what makes those amps, warts and and, so beloved. Something like a Prometheus I have hope for. It is a modern amp, but it does not really seem derivative.

Yeah I definitely want to try the Promethius. I don't expect to like it, but would be happy to be wrong about that. I like the Hell Razor and Hermansson Recto's as some modern, unique amps. I don't actually prefer a vintage, dated sound in terms of flavor. Ideally I like something modern that still is inspiring and alive, but it's seems to be looking for 2 qualities that often go against each other

What do you think about ground zero hellion?

It's on my yes list. The video where the maker...Jeremy? Walks through the switches and knobs. There are good sounds that hit me right.

Sorry to pick your brain so much. it's nice to just to chat it through. Even if my choices or ears are a bit different than yours. Don't have many musicians i talk to anymore

I haven't tried a Hellion. The clips seem like it's a smoother type of sound than I usually go for, but I'd have to try it in person

My interest died as i heard they use Driftwood Transformers.
Do you have info or sources you can share on this. Whether it's the manufacturer name or something else.

Trying to find more info. one question was is it the same. Or same manufacturer. Website says custom. I imagine even an extra wind changes things up but idk how yet.

I edited this to omit joking keep to the point.

I read it here. I have no further Information.
"The Prometheus is partly manufactured at Driftwood in Bautzen and uses the same components as their amplifiers for the powerful custom-made power supplies and output transformers."

It is also pretty obvious that Driftwood builds these considering the Bromance between Marek and Daniel on every fair since 1,5 years :) also, just take a closer look at the back and looks very familiar to how the driftwood amps look on the back.
To me, it is not a bad thing though. I do like my driftwood amp.

Well I still hope to hear more one way or another. Transformers are one part of the sound puzzle but. After reading I'm back to gestalt reviews or thoughts.

Full disclosure. I paid an acquaintance so I will get their prometheus. And can find out myself. Orders to folks are supposed to be February. Will post back. I also planned on recording or doing a review in our forum on headfirst evil joe. That will be my beta test how to best share info about this.

Appreciate everyone who contributed. And as stated. After my rabbit hole. I bought it and will get in like Feb or March maybe. Will keep you posted.
