Maybe it's just me, but nothing's moving. And, lowballers are worse than ever! My stuff is listed at VERY fair prices on Reverb, (below market), and all I get is a gazillion watchers, and lowball offers.. Yeah, it's been like that for years, but even worse now more than in the past.

I just listed a bunch of amps on a FB gear group. The Mr Hector sold right away but the rest are just tire kickers and people wanting to trade.

I’m not trying to sell anything but I do see a lot of things sitting and I am watching a lot of shit on reverb and CL. I have started seeing the return of some decent deals on stuff but most stuff is still high and the sellers are dropping prices by only tiny increments, hoping to eke out every extra dollar.

One thing I see a lot is people putting in their ad what the instrument costs new currently, and it is pretty nuts how quickly new prices have increased in the last couple years. But what I see is shit like people trying to get $1k for 3-5 year old korean made Schecters (what they probably cost new at that time) because “now they’re making them in Indonesia for the same price or more!” and this inflation has happened so quickly I don’t think many people are willing to accept that.

The trade thing really grinds my gears. When I was selling my BE Deluxe I put no trades in my ad.Still I got people wanting to trade me their kids baby toys, push lawn mowers etc. Should of saved the messages it got kind of silly.

I have a couple pedals sitting locally that are priced fair but I did just sell a Ceriatone 2204 and a beat up Marshall 1960B in a couple of days. I probably had those listed a little bit high to start because I knew that any offers I received would be for less. Had an offer to buy both for where my bottom dollar was set and that was that.

Sometimes when ya need cash fast I just drive to guitar center and settle for 60% of what my gear is worth. Less hassle.

Tell me about it... I can't even look at a half stack without my back acting up so I got rid of my 4x12s and went with low wattage heads w/1x12 cabs (no combos, are you kidding me?). Oh wait, wrong forum.

Don'
Guys are asking insane price. Greed knows no bounds these days. I mean, just insane, stuff that you see that you actually find shocking. But when you talk to the seller, they always have a bizarre or nonsensical reason. “Bro! I saw the same Charvel sell in a remote part of the Andes for 5k bro’l
.. or they start referencing prices on "Japanese eBay".

:p

Sold a BFR Stingray bass in one day. If its unique and priced appropriately it will move. Have a TA I'm about to put on the market so we will see how that does. I think all the overpriced bs languishing on the market just helps when something is priced right

you complain about prices more than anyone, wouldnt it just be easier on your psych to maybe not contact the seller and just skip over the ad, or maybe even just stop looking?? we dont want to see you constantly flustered

I have a suggestion that might get me banned but fuck it ...
Maybe we should collectively stop being so materialistic and stop buying shit for a while.

That would fix the market

market is great for me, just found a minty les paul standard for $900, a gflex 2x12 for $75 and just missed a usa strat for $600 by 10 minutes according to the buyer, and that was just last week alone :dunno:

Gotta ask. Was that on Reverb? Yesterday a guy was selling an Electrodyne for ~ 1000 euro. That's huge for Europe but the only problem is he was new. In Europe most of the times if the price is too good - which in EU means "that looks like a good deal" - it's a new person and most likely a scam. Pretty envious of the US market.

These were Craigslist and marketplace but I’ve found tons of stuff on reverb local listings. you gotta be on the ball and check constantly, i get the feeling many here are still flip phoners and are probably laughing at me as im resetting my craigslist page every stop light but thats how you find the deals. every time i find a killer deal the seller tells me "oh yeah i got 10 other texts" but you were the first. flip phone guy who checks on his computer once every couple days never even sees the good deals cause they are already gone
