Been looking for a cab, 2x12 or maybe 4x12, Marshall or Marshall clone, and came across a really nice conditioned 2061cx cab.
Looking to run it with my Metro JTM45.

Looks to be a Baltic Birch 2x12.
I don't have any real experience with the G12H reissue speakers, any complaints?

No -- but you have to like a vintage sound which actually would probably be a good choice for your amp.

I personally don’t like the H magnet celestions other than the early ‘60’s white voice coil ones. Too hollow sounding, just not satisfying to me

I didn't look first, but thinking back, is this the same speaker that came stock in the DSL40?
If it is, I wasn't a fan of that speaker in that amp.

It is a bright cabinet speaker, with spikes top end and nice mids.

That I don’t know. Haven’t tried the 40 version DSL

I had one of those . It's a nice cabinet. I also really liked the 2061 head also.
A Led Zep tribute band around here uses a 2061 with matching cab. Sounds spot on. Honestly, some of the best LZ tones I've heard.
The Germino Masonette, 18 watt 4 holer, nails those tones too.

Basically just be aware the G12H30 is very bright. Compared to the G12M greenbacks the H30 is IMO a little stiffer, a little less midrange focused, less fizzy but with a sharper and more extended treble range that I always found kind of hard to be in the same room with. You can dial in a tone that is not bright and there will still be some of that ZING, for better or worse.

When they work with your setup they can be great though.

Those have come with various speakers. (dsl40w).
I had one and wasn't the happiest with the tone.
Like a schlub, had John Nau out of Rochester, NY do a mod, but at the same time I took out and replaced , what I think was the G12H.
Still didn't like it, sold the amp.
Put the original speaker back in for the sale, I kept other speaker, and the amp sounded glorious and didn't want to sell.

Whatever the mod was, it was great. Just didn't realize it until I reinstalled the original speaker...

Ive got an 18 watt TMB I built running a Sourmash cab with single Scumback.
Great amp!

How do you think it would be pulling one speaker and replacing with something different?
Sort of compliment the G12H? lol

Definitely a “your mileage may vary” thing there, but I am not the biggest fan of mixing speakers in a cab, especially when they have different efficiency ratings. I have only mixed H30’s and V30’s in the past and preferred either by themselves over the mix.

Don’t be put off the H30’s because they’re bright necessarily. I had a cab with them a long time ago when my main amp was a modded Laney AOR and while in some scenarios it sounded really good, it was hard to dial in that combination to not be real bright and still cut in a mix. When it worked it could get a great classic and hard rock tone.

No decisions will be made until I hear it.
Chances are I won't change anything.
My PS2 should help me dial in the sound for the room.

Honestly, I tend to set my amp up a little bright. Helps with rolling back guitar volume...

The H30 isn’t really lacking when it comes to bass response either. It has a more solid low end than Greenbacks do, it’s just the brightness/presence is going to be more prominent.

Good for use in closed back cab?
This will be my first closed back
