Ben Eller saved the video. The amp shows that if you can play it delivers, at 0:10 when he plays that Whitesnake riff, it sounds pretty good. Same for his take on Metallica 5:59
That’s a hot take. They have a lot of great amps: Tremoverb, Rectifer Multi-Watt, Mark II through Mark IV. Maybe not to your taste, but those are great amps. They haven't made anything great in almost my entire lifetime so far
Well the reason I said “almost” is because of the mark iv and Rev F barely making it in that time span. Mark iii came out before, the Multi-Watt is not a great tier amp to me. The tremoverb I guess is good (not amazing), but not as good as earlier revision Recto’s and the key word for me was great, like something with a real wow factor or significant step forward and I’ve only seen steps backwards with them for that time really (at least in the tone department, not counting convenience in features), so yeah I don’t see it as a hot take at all really, just sadly the trendThat’s a hot take. There used to be these things called sole proprietor stores and they would stock a decent variety of these things called amps. Actual 50 and 100 watt, glass bottled things, with this weird anomaly called a 4x12 speaker cabinet. More so if near a decent sized city. But we’re talking back in the days of Sanskrit.
So GD brutal of a demo. Those EQ settings are trash. THEN, guitar boy actually makes fun of the “V” shape EQ very condescendingly. 95% of people V the eq. Out of touch with reality. Worse than Kamala’s campaign.99 percent talking

I’m more surprised they didn’t dime 80, 750, and 6600 hz while completely cutting 240 and 2200 hz. This gives a never to be classic ‘W’ setting. In case you haven’t already guessed, that stands for Woke with a capital fucking WI don’t think I’ve ever seen anybody make a fucking “squashed M” shape on the GEQ before. Good lord.

They unburdened themselves from any possible good tone“Unburdened by what has been yada yada”
And from any brain to question themselves wtf are they doingThey unburdened themselves from any possible good tone
The amp does sound like it fell out of a coconut tree“Unburdened by what has been yada yada”
At this point I think Gibson are fucking trolling usThe amp does sound like it fell out of a coconut tree
The amp sounds great but IIC+ collectors and owners can sleep well knowing it still doesn’t hang. So far of the high gain sounds there’s way more mids present than a dialed in old IIC+ which instantly takes it into a live friendly tone but under recording doesn’t seem like it belongs. It reminds me of a mark II that’s trying to identify as a Marshall and I strongly believe it has something to do with their component brand choices that exist today or just people having no clue how to dial them in or possibly both.
It already has limited features and sounds better as a clean amp than it does at high gain.
I’d rather have an old SRG, DRG, or HRG.
Very likely as it sounds as if, without disclosure, they evolved the circuit into Mark 2F- specsAt this point I think Gibson are fucking trolling us
I’d be surprised if it doesn’t smoke the V. That’s the most bland and cardboard sounding Mark of all since the C+ imo.
