Which Mark is the most user-friendly, easiest to dial in, and won't rip your head off on .5 on the volume? I've been kicking around a Mark IV or V used.. I still don't like how everything has 1×8 and 2x4 speaker inputs

So it’s better for you than the jp2c? I played a jp2c next to a mark vii and felt the vii smoked the jp2c
I have played a mark VII two times briefly and I think out of all of the Mark series that is by far the closest to the mark iv in sound and feel. The JP2C for me fell very short it felt stiff. I had a hard time cutting through, and I found it to be overly noisy.

Mark IV. The V is much harder to dial in and needs some volume. The clean tone is awesome though.

It's the real deal, going through my friend's cab with some eminence speaker. I'll be borrowing it and running it through my v30 and greenback cabs soon.

Cool! What mic was he using? If you don't mind me asking.

MarkV:25 on 10w mode

I'll just leave this one here for the Mark IIC+ guys........tells us what you hear:dunno:

I don’t know…something just seems off with the base “tone”. Granted these are all shitty phone audio. Hard to tell for the time being

At this point I think I'm most interested in hearing how the reissue compares to the Mark VII, both the IIC+ and the IV modes.

Sounds like a classic Rigtalk cellphone recording (not good).
Even the cellphone clips of real Mark IIC+s seem to sound quite a bit different than what these reissue's sound like. Granted this guy is not using high output pickups. I'm sure someone eventually is going to record it up with a high gain setup and then we will see.

You would have thought some Metallica or Dream Theater player would have gotten one by now......:poke:

That’s what I was getting at.. even the cellphone clips of the OG IIC+ sound different than the reissue. Base tone or whatever is different

Well... That's what the guys with the OG MarkII C+'s have been saying......I'm not even a Mesa guy but the new ones seem to be missing that gained out compressed bounce to the mids yet still have the snarl and aggression. The guy in the video said he used Ola's setting from Ola's Mark IIC+ videos from last year...........
If the reissue doesn't match what they get with the Mark VII this reissue might be a fail for Mesa, you would think they would have covered their asses before releasing these but ya never know.....:dunno:

I have a bunch of OG IIC+, IIC++, Coli IIC+. I play them every single day… my go to amps. There’s definitely something not quite right in what I’ve been hearing

Agree. I just got thru playing my ++ for an hour (deaf now lol). So damn good. Exploding sounding and feeling lol. Dripping with gain and perfectly tight.

+1. They all have this modern “hairy” gain structure that the OGs most certainly do not. I hope we’re proven wrong but it’s not looking promising.
