are the people guessing how the amp is going to sound, the same ones who guessed the price point a few months ago? :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

It's been proven time and time again that a good amp can sound bad in demos. It's very likely Gibson did a good job and it will probably sound good with the right player or recording. Why the hell we're left guessing is the mind boggling part.

I can't imagine selling say a high-end camera and then approving marketing that showcases amateur level, slightly blurry photos.

The funny part is just before the Rollei 35af was released, it was initially handed out to a bunch of photography infloooencers who didn’t know how to use it and didn’t bother reading the manual, and did indeed showcase it with blurry photos.

I knew if I made bad analogies my whole life one of them would come true, or be unknowingly based on real events.

I truly think it's because these companies are run by people who want to be cool rockstars but are ultimately corporate suits who have become disconnected with what musicians actually want... but they still think they're equipped to make these decisions because hey, some of them still have long hair and tattoos, so they have to still be cool and know what the kids these days want, right? And then they surround themselves with yes men so they never actually learn how out of touch they are.

In the official Gibson/Mesa video the guy only turns on the Graphic EQ for like two of the audio clips. Everybody runs their EQ on almost all the time, especially on the gain channel. Gain at 5, Treble at 5, Mids at 7, Lead Drive at 6 with no GEQ? C'mon man! 🤦‍♂️
I'm guessing most of these people don't really understand what the people interested in a Mark IIC+ are really wanting to hear.:dunno: Give me some Petrucci riffs and some John Sykes riffs and singing lead tones please!!!

The dude who compared the reissue to the original played a few Petrucci riffs, but he also didn't really know how to dial the amp, was afraid of extreme settings, etc. so it was kind of a wash.

The demo sounds pretty good, the overall look is there.

Disappointed, but not surprised that they barely said a word about the transformers, which we'd all heard were a big reason they never reissued them before. Also zero mention of Mike B or the fact that they're doing this after Randall has left, they may as well not talk about the history at all and just run through the amps features & sounds.

He did say they were able to replicate the transformer. Just not the voltage switching options.

Curious, has Mike B ever been officially talked about by Mesa HQ? I've always heard his name brought up online as "the guy", but never through Mesa.

Oh he's the guy and my amp is with him now. Was asking if Mesa ever talks about him specifically in their PR stuff.
