I'm not talking about the channels, i'm saying whether you use the rhythm or lead channel, those amps are famously at their best for players who focus on playing leads
I kinda missed that they are "famously at their best for players who focus on playing leads", before i bought a SLO to try it. :D
Someone has gotta say it to him too: 😅 🥳

I haven't played the apocalypse, is it a different circuit?

I used to own an mzero od. First thing to know is that they are deafeningly loud- louder than my 150w wizards- and that’s on like .3 on the volume knob. I’d describe them as slo with a little more Marshall high mid bite. They aren’t metal tight imo, but are good for rock and singing leads. The metal mod supposedly gets it tighter, but not super tight still. The apocalypse is a new thing , but based on the clips and the friend of mine who owns one, they don’t get super tight either. Long story short, not tight enough for me, but tight enough for people who mainly play rock.
I have a Trinity and love it! I agree with all of your comments. The clean channel is surprisingly nice too.

Big shout out to Mezzabarba for their free, all expensive paid tryout period. Now that’s having confidence in your product! It’s the only logical conclusion I’m arriving at after so many literal RENT FREE shoutouts from their last sponsored video thread.

Shit maybe I should start youtube shilling to get some RENT FREE gear XD

From Kyle Bulls video it sounds like a Rivera to me.

Honestly that would be a lot more interesting if it wasnt 4 grand, it is supposed to be like a Knucklehead or Mick Thomson style?

Awesome sounding amps, all, I guess I just would only be interested used

From the sounds in the videos I'm very not interested.

I'd have to hear it in a relatively "normal people tuning" to get a good idea of how the actual amp sounds tbh

B or lower clips almost always blend together as "I am using this crutch to make my riffs sound heavier" unless they're doing a swedish chainsaw sound or something much more outside the box IMO (ala at the gates, carcass, etc)

Not really. To my knowledge it's just more of the same.

The clip sounds fine for a phone clip, but his low Z string being slightly out of tune makes me want to smash my head against the wall lol

I'd like to hear it close miced by someone besides RENT FREE, he gets good tones but they do tend to blend together

There’s few amps I’ve been less impressed with what I hear in demos than Mehzarabas, I’m never been to keen on SLO’s either though

I think they sound great, but like others have said, they are basically SLOs - if you really like the sound, you really like the SLO sound.

Just like the SLO, the low end is going to be round and you're going to need a boost to play metal or else it's going to be a little flubby.

Just like the SLO, that round low end is going to make leads sing and sound absolutely glorious

I haven't played the apocalypse, so that might be different than the Mzero and Trinity, but IMO they all sound great

basically if it was me, I would absolutely grab one if it was a good deal and I wanted that tone - for new prices though? I would just buy a BAD SLO and be done with it.

OTOH, if I wanted that sound for shorter cash, I would grab a Jet City 100 head
cool. sounds like it would be up my alley. I like an amp on the rounder side. Not flubby, but big and thunderous sounding. Lots of low mids.

Fwiw, I have the Synergy SLO preamp. It’s my favourite of all the Synergy modules! I have a 5153 that I never play anymore. The SLO is warmer, fatter, and not nearly as tight. Its taken over the duties that my 5153 used to do.

The actual slo 100 has always been a bucket list amp. Never owned one, but I think I’d love it!

I’ve owned the MZERO OD and ES. General experience has been - very loud, very sensitive master volumes, hard to get it exactly at the right volume sometimes.

Otherwise, it has a lot of gain, but felt very boxy . Like opposite of the wizard, which has crazy thump and fills the room. Of course, not everything can match a wizard, but even my GZ helion can really thump and sound huge unlike the mzero. I’ll end up passing on this brand in the future

I already asked the italian Guy with the 6L6 Apocalypse about a miked Clip twice. The first time, three weeks ago he said: soon. Rent Free refused another Clip.

Fair enough.

Get a SLO. Much higher resale value. And it's a Classic.

I had an Mzero OD. Like others said it got loud very fast. I remember being pleasantly surprised with how organic/raw sounding it was for a non-vintage amp, but I was a bit less experienced/discerning at the time I had it. Like others say, it sounded to me like a more Marshall-y SLO and also very room filling/big. I thought it was a great amp at the time, but for my taste also too round in attack/not tight enough and didn't get a complete enough growl on powerchords (like the SLO's too smooth in some places) and a few other amps I had at the time still sounded bigger, so I couldn't find a reason to keep it. Even for leads preferred a few other amps I had. I'd still though like to try the metal mod version and new apocalypse to see how they compare

I have an SLO, and have played the Mzero many times, directly comparing both.
I think there are micd clips out there somewhere. If not, they're on my laptop.
Basically, I'd be fine having a Mezza if I didn't have a killer SLO. The SLO is a bit sweeter, Mezza a bit meaner. I wish my SLO had the NFB knob, and the Mezza had an effects loop volume. Mezza is a bit more particular about plugging and unplugging things in the fx loop. Like, you dont want to do it with the amp running. Something with the ground wiring. And we ran into some noise issues using it with an amp switcher.
Other than that, it's a tricked out SLO with EL34s. I wouldn't give up my SLO for one. But I'd grab one if I didn't already have my SLO.
