I'm not sure you'll read this but I hope you do. I'm not going to insult, demean, or 'raise shit'. I'm going to offer an explanation as to why what you see as nefarious really isn't. Some of this I've posted before but for completeness I've reposted it.
As I said, I was a member here when Rig Talk started as an alternative to TGP and Harmony Central. I even still have my "No Amp For You" Cameron Amps t-shirt somewhere in a drawer. As time went on I ended up posting mostly at a couple invitation only guitar sites and I let my memberships at HCAF, Rig Talk, and TGP languish.
A few months ago Rig Talk got mentioned at one of the private forums and I thought "hmm, I wonder what's up there". Wow, the place has changed! I've been lurking for a while. "What kind of strings do you use" and "What amp should I buy so I sound like Eddie Van Hendrix" threads hold zero interest for me. I've been playing "professionally" (getting paid being the defining factor) since I was 16 and I've figured out the answers to all those questions the hard way - on my own. I don't need to ask them any more. So, what interests me are the off topic areas. That's where I've been lurking here.
Now, I'm what you'd call a radical leftist when compared to most of the posters here. I figure you guys need a little balance. I knew my first post would cause a bit of a shit storm but that's ok - this place is loose and fast and that kind of thing seems almost encouraged here. And I stand by my first post. The US has become a police state and people are sick of it and are going to fight back.
One thing you'll NEVER find me doing is calling other posters a "retard" or a "fucktard". I don't give a shit if other do, I have thick skin/broad shoulders and can ignore crap like that easily.

I'll argue with these fuckwits all day long mate, but let's be crystal clear about something here.
I'm not going to put up with the pathetic bullying that these little shits try get away with here, against anyone who doesn't fit with their worldview. These assholes hounded Donny off this page, to the point he arc'd up and got himself banned.
They pushed and pushed, repeatedly posted pictures and private information to the point he lost it.
It ain't happening with me. I've got thick skin and will happily argue my point, but when you've got this muppet @Picasso hunting the internet for private information to passive/aggressively attempt to intimidate another member, then you need to step in as an Admin.
I'd be very carefully considering Rig-Talk's stance on this one mate, or at least considering if people who behave in a way which contravenes the Terms of the forum are worth having as part of the membership here. And anything I say to you, I'll say openly here, despite the fact these fools will happily descend on it and use it to entertain themselves. One already has.

Oh, and I agree it's not-cool but as I said earlier, if it's public-domain it's OK 'til someone requests it be taken down. The rules you pointed to don't 100% apply in the free-speech / anything goes area BTW. Makes sense, otherwise the name-calling and so on wouldn't be possible.

For the record, the picture you painted of Donnie's (5x?) demise was far from accurate. Yes, he did get frustrated by the posting of pics, all of which I removed upon his request, but the real problem was that he'd suddenly become unhinged without-warning.
I mean that literally; even in otherwise-cordial PM's, and even to the mods in said private conversations. He just didn't seem capable of maintaining some sense of decorum (even OTC has a vernacular, so to speak) for more than a week or two. God knows I tried with him. Gave him many chances. He'd start out fresh with a new account, being polite to me and the other mods and then he'd lose it.
The mods here don't suffer personal attacks and so on. We put up with a Helluva lot, but that's where we draw the line and Donnie crossed it many times. That's not to mention all the forum crap.
Anywho, only he and one other have been banned for misbehaviour since I've been in-the-chair, so it's pretty-obvious that we have to have damned-good reasons to deny someone the joy of membership. Oh, the joy.
