Besides this is not the real measure of a man ..... mine is at least 4 inches.

:picsorban:

I have no pictures ..... but in the 80's I was in one porn. It featured me pretty drunk with a couple of lesbians. I have not seen a copy of it in years. I do not think it was ever put out on DVD ?

I well not go into the graphic nature of this but I always thought it was more funny than erotic. Do not even ask about the midget in lace incident ... that story is just embarrassing. She could stand up in my back seat of my car. To say the least I had very liberal ideas about sex when I was drinking.

after-re-reading this thread im still pissed.

i'd like some of these guys to say this to my face instead of acting tough over the internet. flame on exactly.

i played the alchemist and didnt like it. but to each their own. the band mystic prophecy used 5150's live back in 2004 with Gus-G. pagan's mind uses them as well as danyeo has pointed out in previous threads. but i still dont understand why i get knocked for taking a 5150 and totally going through it front to back and making it my own?

i agree there isnt anything but cork sniffing in this forum anymore. you arent the beez-neez unless you own 2 things: diezels or axe-fx's.

if that is what you use to get your tone, great. if thats the price you have to pay to get your tone, awsome. as long as you can get it, thats all that counts.

17 modifications i designed have been done to this amplifier. its not the stock 5150 tone, and far from it. like everyone else, i wouldnt even think about purchasing a 5150 or 5150II from what i have heard in the stores.

another thing is, i think the 5150 gets a bad rap because everyone who plays it doesnt play it like its supposed to be played, cranked wide open from 4-6.5. and honestly you cant even test that anymore in stores just because how business is done.

im proud to own a 5150 because it what i use to get my tone. if anyone else continues to think otherwise they can kiss my ass.

this is a rig-talk forum, im expressing how i dis-liked the amplifiers a certain player is using from my own experiences. the fact i get rammed for "talking shit because i own a 5150 II" is absolutely absurd. talk about dis-respect.

with that fact, i have never had the chance to play a JVM. im not a marhsall fan, and everything around here in charlotte is either alchemists, line-6, DSL or TSL.

every person on this earth has a right to play through whatever they please to get their tone from their own hands. thats what it is about. but dont attack the person for what he uses. thats imorally unjustified and total douchery.

"flame on"?... get real.

-matt
I dont think they were meaning that...
The fact that a person would make fun of someone elses gear was the point..
I personally will never own a Diezel and if I liked the 5150 I would buy one and enjoy it,,,actually I prefer 6l6 dirt and cleans...
If I offended you which based on this thread probably didnt my only purpose was the fact of one of us making fun of a basically guitar god to some peoples rig..
Arrogance I guess..
No real harm meant just Think about it...

Thanx .... i have been working on the upper range of my singing.

...... there is no reason to single out Scott on this ..... I blame Neil. He is the one who started this :scared:  :)
Actually, I wasent talking about Scott, It was the JVM hate-train. I think any amp that lets you get the sound your after is a good one, provided it is reliable. If everyone used the same thing this place would get boring in a hurry. I personally dont think the JVM is the best Marshall , but I like it well enough to keep it. I would like to think there was room for everything under the sun here, just listening to the clips some have posted, I can think of a lot of stuff I would like to try out. some of it is newer stuff that is easy to get a good sound out of, some of it is older, and requires a certain amount of trial and error (or knowledge) to get great tones out of. Just listen to Ants tones on his clips, I have owned the same stuff he used on those, but my tones would not touch his, his tones are fantastic. I would be willing to bet there is not a Diesel on the planet that would get those tones. At the same time, I would love to have a new Diesel. Just sayin I think there is room here for everything :D :D

BTW, its been very entertaining to watch the evolution of this thread

Saw Neal with Journey a few weeks ago, Night Ranger opened for them, Brad Gillis' tone KILLED Neal's. I don't know what Brad was using either, last time I saw them he had a Soldano Decatone. I'm wagering he either had a Soldano or a Mark Series Boogie - but whatever it was decimated Neal.

Gillis is using a Line 6 Pod XT with a Boss GT-8 into the FX return of an early 80's Peavey Mace on this current tour.
thats nothing but awsome

just proves the tone is in the hands. how you get there is a whole nother journey.

ive been looking to downsize my practice rig, and im going to invest in a POD X3 just in case i have to bring something live for a backup or carry it to instruct lessons. MUCH easier than a 1x12 combo and sounds amazing!

Psst........ dude, that was a joke. I just combined three pieces of Rig Talk determined crap and said that's what Gillis used ;)

Yeah, pretty much! Neal's use of the whammy bar was pretty much neophyte level compared to Brad... however, Brad put his strat out of tune pretty badly and retuned a few times. Neal's LP with the floyd stayed in tune great. Other complaint I had about Neal is that he either played 8th notes or 64ths... it was like "melodic line... WHEEDELEY WHEE!" "melodic line... WHEEDLEY WHEE!" the whole night. Plus when he played fast it was just scattershot notes... burn for the sake of burn. Sounded like a kid at guitar center running scales he learned at his 'shred' lesson the week before.

If he had, I would have left and punched a hole in the wall on my way out. I paid good money to hear them play through professional amplifiers, not tube driven kazoo toned things.

I have the GP articule with Brad btw, he goes through the original Red Strat and shows some of his other fiddles. If you want it let me know and I will send it out to ya. From about a year ago or so.

There's Scott again, buying friends. When he was little, his mom had to tie a pork chop around his neck just so the dog would play with him.

That rig pic didn't cause nearly as much of a stir on HRI where I first saw it posted.

The sniffer's seem a bit more behaved over there.

Ralph went and saw Neal play at BB Kings in NYC a few years ago. I remember asking Ralph about Neals tone and his description including words such as monkeys, a barrel, and bags of asses. :D

I LOVE the tone on the old Journey albums but some of Neals recent tone sounds like he's plug into a Rockman with a ton of effects.

why does this topic still reak of cork sniffing..

:gethim: :gethim: :gethim:

i didnt see either show live, so you when you posted that i figured why the hell not?
