Please guys do not take this nonsense to serious .... it's just guitars and amps after all. Besides this is not the real measure of a man ..... mine is at least 4 inches.

im proud to own a 5150 because it what i use to get my tone. if anyone else continues to think otherwise they can kiss my ass.

Couldn't agree more. That is the same way I feel about my amps, whichever one I am using at the time.

There was some extremely stupid shit said in this thread...pretty embarrassing to those that said it, in my opinion. In the first 5 or so posts this thread took on a vibe that I have never gotten here at Rig Talk. Bummed me out.

me and steve were joking, but when i checked it afterwards it was all brutality for all the wrong reasons afterwards and personal attacks on other members of the forum. you've been here alot longer than i have, and the statement you made is a bit scary in contrast to how long RT has been going.

RT is a balls to the wall forum, brad runs the place awsome and i really respect him and the moderators for it. its really chill here, but i draw the line on shit like this. if you cant take it, dont dish it. if you have a point, back it up properly. but dont attack the fellow members or the "millionaires". thats immorally wrong on all levels.

I have no pictures ..... but in the 80's I was in one porn. It featured me pretty drunk with a couple of lesbians. I have not seen a copy of it in years. I do not think it was ever put out on DVD ?

I well not go into the graphic nature of this but I always thought it was more funny than erotic. Do not even ask about the midget in lace incident ... that story is just embarrassing. She could stand up in my back seat of my car. To say the least I had very liberal ideas about sex when I was drinking.

LMAO man what a thread

yeah dude, what have you done!!!  fwiw I dig seeing amps/pedals, regardless if it is anything I would ever use or not, I just like looking at gear

It's pretty funny the gear that gets trashed on Rig-Talk as being so far beneath us, yet used by touring pros. I remember this thread where everybody was just trashing the Boss GT-8 as being some Fisher Price level, tinkertoy piece of junk and then the next thread where we were raving about how killer Nuno Bettencourts tone was when someone had just seen him live. I put up this parody thread about how come the GT-8 wasn't good enough for any of us on RT yet Nuno Bettencourt seems to do OK with his.

Eddie came clean along time ago that his amps were stock but then again...who knows? who cares? As long as I have amps I'm happy with..I'm cool.

Give me a Marshall head and an MXR distortion plus and I'll get any tone I need...It worked for years and still works to this day but...Too many damn choices and doing it that way would just be too simple and easy...Need that angst and frustration of buying amps only to flip them cuz..it doesn't sound like a Marshall head with a boost in front of it... :D

Spend any time at all on the Metro Amp EVH forum and listen to the clips those guys are getting with their stock plexi spec amps and you will believe for sure that Eddie's amp was stock.

I just pulled my old Distortion +, and MXR 10 Band EQ and MXR 6-Band EQ out of the closet and wondering why I ever put them away and went on this endless quest of boutique pedals when a good old TS-9, a good old SD-1, a good old OD250 and a good old D+ will give me any overdriven Marshall tone I want. I'm selling all my "improved" and modded/upgraded versions of classic pedals too. Why upgrade all the things "wrong" with the tone of those classic designs? Those are the designs that got THAT tone. Hello?

I tried lots of amps over the years, nothing seemed quite what I was looking for. As soon as I finally tried a four holer and tubescreamer it was like - oh, that's what I've been looking for!

I agree a stock non master Marshall with or without your favorite flavor of overdrive is the sound.

Damn internet wasn't around back then to school those noobs on tone.  Really, though....I've always wondered what the "tonally enlightened" would think if they got ahold of SRV's #1, or Clapton's "Blackie", Gibbon's "Pearly Gates", EVH's "Frankie", etc....and found one, or more of those guitars to be "sub par" as far as "forum" standards....

I still want your D+ Ant!!!!! You feeling any less hate towards going to the post office these days? I just haven't had a chance to even think about heading to San Diego to pick it up

Oops..... I am keeping my Evosevic and Analogman modded DOD YJM pedals. I had them both built to DOD OD250 gray spec because I'm not shelling out $500 for a vintage DOD pedal

Saw Neal with Journey a few weeks ago, Night Ranger opened for them, Brad Gillis' tone KILLED Neal's. I don't know what Brad was using either, last time I saw them he had a Soldano Decatone. I'm wagering he either had a Soldano or a Mark Series Boogie - but whatever it was decimated Neal.

Gillis is using a Line 6 Pod XT with a Boss GT-8 into the FX return of an early 80's Peavey Mace on this current tour.

thats nothing but awsome

just proves the tone is in the hands. how you get there is a whole nother journey.

ive been looking to downsize my practice rig, and im going to invest in a POD X3 just in case i have to bring something live for a backup or carry it to instruct lessons. MUCH easier than a 1x12 combo and sounds amazing!
