I was really looking forward to a video demo similar to the Tone Merchants video demo of the Marsha. You know, with some intro music, Rob talking about the amp, Settings displayed and then 30-45 second bits of someone playing with those settings. Some dry and some a bit moist. Different guitars,Heavy riffing, some soloing ect. I just saw that demo for the first time a few weeks ago and thought it was the best amp demo i'd ever seen. There have been and will be more killer sounding clips of the CCV from various owners but the video demo of the Marsha was as close as you can get to knowing about an amp short of playing it yourself.

The problem was that there just wasn't the time to get it all done.

Yeah, I figured time issue played a part especially when your coming from the east coast. Still something I'd like to see in the future. Hell, the Marsha was out for a long time before that video was made right? CCV isn't even actually out yet.

Hmmm. Definitely doesn't sound bad. To me, it's a little buzzy and seems to lack the chest-thudding low-mids of previous video examples and Camerons that I've played in person. I'm sure it'd sound different in the room.
Also, since this was close mic'd instead of with a zoom or equivalent digital recorder, I think we may be missing the magic that room ambience creates. I felt the same way about this amp in the Lugo shootout and it was close mic'd then as well. I don't recall if there was an ambient mic on those sessions.
I'd need a CCV in my posession to really dig in and give it a proper evaluation.
Anyone wanna send or buy me one so that I can give it a thorough workout?

Congrats to Mark and all the guys at tone merchants, job well done. Great playing from Mark and awesome tone as expected.

There's really no easy way around it. For me, I've always had these "thin" demos when close direct miking, until you start layering. You can compress, delay, limit, and shift the same signal as much as you want, but nothing compares to actually doubling a part. That being said, this amp is going to be great...I can hear through it!

a great deal of 80's Gary Moore stuff in those clips. Pretty good, when do these start rolling out to customers.

Still waiting to hear what speakers were used...

I think they are Greenbacks. I am waiting for confirmation from Rob.

The cab is 2 vintage 30's and 2 heritage Greenbacks. Not sure what was used for the clip though.

Dave, I used the two bottom speakers in the ripped up Marshall cab :)

if it was v30's that would explain a lot, that is my least fav speaker to use with the ccv...

Looks to me like 2 vintage 30's were used.

If this is the case, that explains 99% of the concerns IMHO....I dispise V30's.

+1 they work great for certain amps but def not the CCV or any cameron amp ive ever played, the voicing of marks amps paired with the voicing of the v30 just doesnt work...

I find it funny that people dislike vintage 30's. Almost every major record recorded in the last 20 years have been recorded with them. Being around records being recorded since 1988 in LA and working at and being around all the major rental houses the only cabs rented were Marshall cabs with v30's about 85% of the time and green backs about 15% of the time. Now you might now like it in front of the cab as much as say a greenback but it translates very well when recorded.

They are no doubt a standard speaker and work excellent for some people and certain amps, But i've tried everything with the ccv (i've owned mine since 2008) and to me they are to raspy and edgy sounding, especially on stage when you go to cut to a lead, and IMO it shows in this clip. I think the new ccv's will sound great through the right speakers...
