I just bought two different lasers for my shop .... I'll be able to do custom chassis faceplates .... Logo's for amps ... custom pickguards ...

one of the lasers can cut 3/4 in baltic birch in a single pass ... I'm going to start doing custom tolex headshells also ...

I'm pretty stoked about it ...
Hey Wayne,
When I get my amp chassis back from Dave Friedman, there will be some front panel changes.
Rather than using a marker or labels, could you possibly make a new "Marshall" type face plate for my amp?

I'm not really going to be focusing much on buying gear this year outside of what I planned right after the holiday season.
I'm going to order something from SonicTone in the next couple of weeks. Either a Patriot or Loyalist. Since they're local to me I'll see about taking a ride to their shop to try both out. and decide then.
I want to get a different set of transformers from Mercury for my Hilbish GT120 build and get back to completing that. I'll order those as soon as Mercury opens back up after their holiday break.

Depending on what all I have going on I may throw in another amp build this year. I have a handful of things in mind I'm considering building. A SLO clone, that drop in Marshall Origin board from Alex/Jason, Modulus Marshbar kit, and Marshall Vintage Origin plexi mod are at the top of the list. @griff10672 if get to any of these projects I may need to hit you up for some custom panel work.

The big thing on tap that I'll be focusing on for a while is converting the garage into my music space. I want to insulate the garage, install a mini split and will likely need a little electrical work done.
The garage is currently my workshop. So the first step is to purchase a new shed and get that setup as my workshop. I have the money for a shed and am just waiting on a decent sale to pop up for one. I the meantime I'll have to clean out and get rid of the old tin piece of crap shed I have now. After that is getting some estimates on the garage and see how much more I need to save up for that work.

I'm with you.
Id like to build another amp this year.
Thinking I may go Trainwreck clone...

Definitely. There's a select couple of amps I'd buy if I came across one at a decent price. For the most part though I'm more about wanting to build my own stuff now.

Dude nice, gt120 build!

This is on my list of stuff I need to own one day - the matamp gt120 is a killer, killer amp

I'm a bit envious of that DR103 you built. I hope I can keep my Matamp wiring half as neat as yours was.

Eventually I want to do a Hiwatt as well. Even thought it seems to be a you like it or you don't, no middle ground thing; I've heard through a proper bass cab a DR103 makes a really unique sounding bass amp.

Thanks man, I really appreciate that. I worked really, really hard for a long time to get the wiring that neat though, so don't think it was some magical wiring skill or something:ROFLMAO:

It was me literally sitting there with gutshots (of reeves era obv) and the schematic, carefully twisting and measuring wire runs 12 times. It took about 3 months total, wiring for 2-3 hours daily. A labor of love, as it were.

Weird that you should mention the bass thing - I tried it through my buddy's ampeg 6x10 last week just for shits and giggles

The volume level was absolutely biblical, but it also is "unique" in that it puts low and high mid freqs much more upfront than bass amps normally do, i'm guessing due to the dr103 tonestack - it absolutely works as a bass amp, but it requires some careful eq. It also did not like my thunderbird's bass humbuggys - too much midrange. It liked P and J pickups.

To be fair it's the same way with guitars - the hiwatt thing is either your thing, or it totally isn't your thing, and it really depends on the gear around it.

If these are yours, how you even play guitar? 😂

Aren't mine, although have been feeling something along those lines for the New Year Ball.
Probably leaning more towards purple sparkle. To match my new hair after all of this purple talk lately :ROFLMAO:
Some may call it libtarded, but I was going for my little pony, tbh.
But to answer your question; usually I step away from the computer first...

Good thing I don’t have a computer 😂

I’m getting a new head in 2025. Not an amplifier but a new cranium. I’ve apparently got a squatter living rent free in mine

Kyle or Larry? :ROFLMAO: There was this kid at the airport who was giving me dirty looks for some reason and it's been bothering me for the past week. Seriously driving me crazy.
