Had Jeff hook me up with some MCPs and I got them up and runnin. So far they just kick ass!Fat tight bottom, clear as a bell chords, very muscular. So far I really, really like them. Thanks Jeff.I'll give more info after I rip them up a bit.

told ya they were unreal! The Torque I put in my mahogany hamer just kills for high gain stuff...his Egnater PAF is truly sonic gold!

What is the scoop on his pickups? Is he an Egnater player and tunes his pickups to Egnater amps?

Egnater PAF? Is that designed for Egnaters? Interesting because I have three guitars up for possible pickup changes.

Black 1994 LP Standard with 498T/490R
Lightburst 2004 LP Standard with Burstbucker Pros
1994 PRS CE with Dragons and 5 way rotary.

Any suggestions? I typically will use Rio Grande or WCR for replacement. However, I would only buy WRC used since they are so expenisve.

Im interested in trying these, but I havent heard anything that comes close to Suhr pickups.

Are Suhr pickups that good????? Can you get em with covers? Check the Bareknuckles thread...any recommendations for me? :D

My tech says Andersons are the best he has tried and I have always loved WRC and Rio but am willing to try more......

It seems Motor City is time tested on Egnater.

Heck my stock pickups are not bad at all.

The torque and PAF kill the Suhr pickups in our standard Suhr!

Wade is a local guy who just flat out makes unbelievable pickups! He has magnets from all over the world...cold war, orginal mags form the plant that made the orginal PAF for Gibson......He just know his shit.
He is doing a Eganter PAF for us and for public sale. We sold the Holmes, Fralins, you name them this thing is unreal!
The torque is a killer to the BBQ I had, which I loved. Ja replaced his Rio's in his paul for these!

Okay Jeff, you have me convinced enough to try. Only a MySpace, no website yet? I'll look into these.

I am looking for something that splits well in my PRS CE-22 - something pretty hot. I need a fat PAF bridge for my one LP and a more modern, hotter pickup that is still versatile for my other LP.

Do you know any specs on the Egnater PAF yet and how it compares to his other pickups or his other PAFs? So, he is making a pickup with Egnater amps in mind? Why is it called an Egnater PAF?

Have you tried any WRCs?

Clips Clips Jeff we need clips of the different eggie pickups! Por favor!

Angelo :m17:

eggie pickups? I thought they were Motor City? :)

Jeff, ever try Wolfetones? I love Rios for being fat but a lot comment on the musicality of Wolfetones but they are not as thick and full to my ears.

Well,so far the MCPs have all but destroyed everything in my arsenal. These are very dynamic and beefy pickup, lots of power but not super high gain stuff.I only have about an hour on them but OMG!The rhythms and chords just shoot out and really shows the guitars natural tones.

Any of you tried Wolfetone or WCR? I was thikning of a WCR Shredder for one LP and Goodwood for the other but now I want to try a MCP. I may try the Torque in my one LP first.

Not high gain? He has some ceramic monsters it appears! :D

Also, what about the PAF style of medium output pickups on his site? I don't see the PAFs listed.

What do they cost?

The PAF's are custom ordered to your specs. 58 59, 60...whatever. After NAMM call our shop and we can get you what you need or in touch with Wade. His site is being built, just helped him with it this past week.

His stuff is bar none the best I have played!

Suhr are very good and yes tehy come covered, I have one on my Les Paul. Very nice. Have a Tom Anderson in my PRS. Your tech is right. During my "extreme hair and high gain" era (80's) I tested tones of pickups to see which one would not squeel atthe highest of gain setting. Tom A wins hands down, almost no michrophonics ever.

Back to Jeff and the Egnater PAF. Do they come with nickel covers? What kind of output are we talking about on the PAF ... 11 to 12K or lower like a true PAF around 8 or 9K?

Any cover or no cover..custom artwork on them whatever you want. You can have them both ways...11 to 12 or 8 to 9...mine are the 8/9.

I put it up against the RIO crunchbox and punchbox, and I love these pickups but after back and forth the MCPs stood alone.I will break out the Paul today,it's loaded with the Muy Grande and it IMHO one of the best pickups i've heard.I was afraid! :D

glad they are doing it! Really these make our design shine even more in the complexity of our various tones with our modules!

INDEED!

Well, I sent Wade a MySpace mesasage stating I'd like to pick up a Torque bridge for my one LP Standard to replace the 498T. Should I go through you Jeff?

Also, what do you recomend for my other LP? My other LP has Burstbucker Pros. I want thick and full, but capable of modern rock and classic rock tones....not as hot as the Torgque....something more like the BBQ or less. I would be open to anything between 8 or 9 up to 12 but I know that would require a different gauge wire. I am a big fan of the WCR Goodwood.

JMGMAN, what MCP are you using?
