Naa, bars, clubs, theatres, restaurants and whatnot closed progressively as the public-gathering limit dropped from 1000 to 500 to 100 to 10 to 2.

I think the border-control move played a huge part, 'cause still to this day a huge proportion of our cases is folks who've come in via plane or cruise ship. 3 days later and we're over 80 deaths now, so creeping up very slowly still, and many of the latest deaths have been men in their 90s.

So they have the same number of deaths as Canada which IS on lock down.

Sweden population = 10.2M
Canada population = 37.7M

You only die from Covid-19 these days...sounds about right...to people who read the NY Times.

Statistically, yes. If they were really interested in exploring this, they would have conducted an analysis by age of the deaths. The younger, the more plausible their story, the older, the less plausible. But that would have required an extra hour of work.

There's reporting and indications that the number of non-COVID reported deaths has increased in the last month in some of these hot spots as well.

It could be that people that needed to go to the hospital avoided it because they were scared, and ended up dying for a condition that could have been treated.

It could also be unreported/untested COVID deaths. They'll back test these deaths at some point. If so, the numbers will spike.

I am amazed that nearly every single business in NZ has installed screens etc for protection .... where the hell did all the screens suddenly come from? Yes we have had 6 weeks to prepared for "reopening" but it seems very "organised" to have enough screens available for every business

fucking weird and scary times ... our government just passed a bill to allow the police to enter your house without a warrant to count the number of people at your dinner table to make sure your social gathering isn't more than 10 people ... thankfully the opposition parties have challenged it so it is going to be reviewed by a select committee...not that that will result in it being over turned but at least they tried
