Naa, bars, clubs, theatres, restaurants and whatnot closed progressively as the public-gathering limit dropped from 1000 to 500 to 100 to 10 to 2.

I think the border-control move played a huge part, 'cause still to this day a huge proportion of our cases is folks who've come in via plane or cruise ship. 3 days later and we're over 80 deaths now, so creeping up very slowly still, and many of the latest deaths have been men in their 90s.

ph right because the narrative we are getting here in NZ is that Scomo is basically Trump and Jacinda is the female jesus..where the reality seems to be they are doing almost the exact same things....but she is female so obviously is doing a much better job

Oh yeah, PC Jacinda. I like to say that the leader of the People's Republic of Victoria is Australia's PC answer to PC Jacinda. Fucking clowns. If ever there were real-life examples of mindless puppets...

Scomo's done a pretty-good job PR-wise, but conservatives, including libertarians of course, are not happy about the clamp-down on freedom and huge debt-fattening spending, both of which fly in the face of basic conservative values.

Yeah, there's no curve left to flatten. It was all about flattening the curve then we'd see things free up, but nooo...

It’s insane. Let’s leave it at that. I’m moving to Sweden.

Have fun

Trump, 7:45 AM - Apr 30, 2020: Despite reports to the contrary, Sweden is paying heavily for its decision not to lockdown. As of today, 2462 people have died there, a much higher number than the neighboring countries of Norway (207), Finland (206) or Denmark (443). The United States made the correct decision!

So they have the same number of deaths as Canada which IS on lock down.

.

Maybe the same numerator, but not the same denominator.

Sweden population = 10.2M
Canada population = 37.7M

The death rates are very different.

Funeral Directors in COVID-19 Epicenter Doubt Legitimacy of Deaths Attributed to Pandemic, Fear Numbers are 'Padded'

So it's their personal opinion that there is number fudging because “they’re writing COVID on all the death certificates"... not because it was the leading cause of death in the state during April? And the rationale has to do with federal funding?

This kind of journalism deserves the Noble Prize.

You only die from Covid-19 these days...sounds about right...to people who read the NY Times.

Statistically, yes. If they were really interested in exploring this, they would have conducted an analysis by age of the deaths. The younger, the more plausible their story, the older, the less plausible. But that would have required an extra hour of work.

There's reporting and indications that the number of non-COVID reported deaths has increased in the last month in some of these hot spots as well.

It could be that people that needed to go to the hospital avoided it because they were scared, and ended up dying for a condition that could have been treated.

It could also be unreported/untested COVID deaths. They'll back test these deaths at some point. If so, the numbers will spike.

Was thinking about this bat virus. Do you think some lab tech was listening to Ozzy and bit the head off a bat? :)

This is how they enforce social distancing in NY.

As long as you are wearing a face mask, you won't have a problem.

A guy I know is one of the people who works on the modelling around this virus and he posted this picture showing what the models were telling them

a comment was made and his response to that comment was very "interesting" to say the lest

the "official messaging" is a weird thing to say imo

He sounds like me at the moment..thankfully we have gone back to nearly normal now (in New Zealand)

I am amazed that nearly every single business in NZ has installed screens etc for protection .... where the hell did all the screens suddenly come from? Yes we have had 6 weeks to prepared for "reopening" but it seems very "organised" to have enough screens available for every business

fucking weird and scary times ... our government just passed a bill to allow the police to enter your house without a warrant to count the number of people at your dinner table to make sure your social gathering isn't more than 10 people ... thankfully the opposition parties have challenged it so it is going to be reviewed by a select committee...not that that will result in it being over turned but at least they tried

Scary shit to me, brother. Sounds like the DPRV where I live (Democratic People's Republic of Victoria). I get the sense Chairman Dan's having orgasms whenever he tells us what we can and can't do.

Get this:
Chairman Dan insisted on retaining the no-visitation "law" until the day after mothers' day. Such is his addiction to power / control, that he refused to bring it forward 1 day so peeps could visit their mums. Every other state in the country allowed it, but nooo, not Chairman Dan's DPRV.

sytharnia1560 and Monkey Man brothers I can feel Hitler rolling in his grave with tears of joy. Facism! The SS is on the rise the man that worshiped Stalin is the blueprint in modern day G5 bandwidth. No need for any stinking badges here.

Ex. Here in Venice beach, you can walk on the beach but not stop to sun bath and at the same time the little bitch gubernator Gaven feels releasing convicts from jail and prison due to a possible CV19 breakout because they tested positive is the communicable and decent thing to do. Great Fuzzy logic there Newsom. I say go fuck yourself and everybody that looks like you and while you're at it stick a hose up your rubber nose! Or is it stick a rubber hose up your nose! Or something like that... Whatever it is -- JUST DO IT!!! :(

MM -> hell yah man! I believe I may have found my evil twin in the vCloud. Intentionally not longwinded here. I've been afflicted with ADADSS as long as I've been on RT, at least (or most) gauging from my popularity round here. :)
