So did you not notice all the measures taken to keep that from happening? The only way you would have a valid point is if the mitigation effort was never put in place.

At the most I'd say we possibly overreacted a little, we may not have needed shelter in place everywhere. But still have social distancing, and other measures taken at business to mitigate the spread.

However I do agree the protesters sure are stacked, and packed in an active/recovering pandemic.

Here in new zealand we are 100% back to normal apart from the boarders being closed. No social distancing, most of the screens are gone from shops, we can have mass gatherings with no limit on numbers...it sure is amazing how when you have no new cases for over 2 weeks and only 1 "active" case and the public start to kick up a stink asking WTF why aren't we at level 1 how quickly our prime minister went from "level 1 will be a slow ease with increased gathering sizes etc, but we won't just 'go back to normal' " to "right every go back to your normal life...remember be kind" haha. I think she saw her election chances getting a little shaky

Last I heard we only have 1 patient in ICU in the entire country, and yesterday zero new cases appeared. Today I think there were 4.

As I've said previously, it was meant to be all about flattening the curve, and there's been no curve to speak of for a while now, just a straight friggin' line. It's as if the goalposts have conveniently moved now into the "eradication" position, which was not what we were sold. Talk about bait-and-switch!

Like Jacinda, I don't think ScoMo's gonna be able to hold us back much longer; the shit'll hit the fan and we'll be let out of our cages... I hope.
