I don't see how that article irrefutably proves that the earth is a spinning ball. But there is good evidence and argumentation. Regarding the bible, it is as Von says not clear, but in my opinion it hints at a flat earth more than a spinning ball.I proved the Earth was round earlier in this thread and yet you [flat earthers] want to forget that happened and go back to your delusions. I have no respect for you. If you can't be logical on this topic it undermines your credibility on all topics.
Further, the Bible does not say the Earth is flat. Anyone saying it does is applying their own interpretation to it.
In Job chapter 38 it sounds to me like God is mocking anyone that tries to make absolute declarations on how the earth and heavens were laid out.I don't see how that article irrefutably proves that the earth is a spinning ball. But there is good evidence and argumentation. Regarding the bible, it is as Von says not clear, but in my opinion it hints at a flat earth more than a spinning ball.

There are verses in Job that say where were you when I created the Earth. God basically mocking our human understanding of things. Which given their conception of how the earth worked was right. Job 38 4-11.In Job chapter 38 it sounds to me like God is mocking anyone that tries to make absolute declarations on how the earth and heavens were laid out.

We don't understand how he created everything but we know more about how the Earth is shaped. But now we know?

Drill baby drill!The oil
People say "pear" but it's not that. It appears circular but the further you get away, it kind of bulges at the middle and then is fatter below the equator. Above it still looks circular, but looks a smaller amount more pushed in. It's almost imperceptable until you get out far enough to see it..and even then it is not that crazyWe don't understand how he created everything but we know more about how the Earth is shaped.
And what makes Von an expert and more than me or any other Christian.Regarding the bible, it is as Von says not clear,
It is spheroidal however it is very close to a sphere. These bulges you talk about are only like 50-100m or something.People say "pear" but it's not that. I'm not saying he's an expert, I just agree with his, and apparently the Orthodox church's take on the matter. That link I posted was protestant btw and it states that it's not entirely clear in the bible, although like I said, I think it leans towards pancake. And what makes Von an expert and more than me or any other Christian.
Just shows how much the ancient Jews knew huh.I'm not saying he's an expert, I just agree with his, and apparently the Orthodox church's take on the matter. That link I posted was protestant btw and it basically says that it's not really clear in the bible, although like I said, I think it leans towards pancake.
We think we know. Nothing has changed except the level of materials fueling intellectual pride and arrogance. We don't understand how he created everything but we know more about how the Earth is shaped.
"What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun"We think we know. Nothing has changed except the level of materials fueling intellectual pride and arrogance.
Ecclesiastes."What has been will be again, what has been done will be done again; there is nothing new under the sun"
We at least know the shape of the Earth within bounds mate. We know for sure it's not flat. Knowing the shape of the Earth isn't arrogance. Knowing the sky is blue during the day or water is wet is not arrogance. It just is.We think we know. Nothing has changed except the level of materials fueling intellectual pride and arrogance.
The earth is a circle, that's scripture. Doesn't make it a ball. That's something someone else made up.We at least know the shape of the Earth within bounds mate. We know for sure it's not flat. Knowing the shape of the Earth isn't arrogance. Knowing the sky is blue during the day or water is wet is not arrogance. It just is.
