Proof the Earth is round

But seriously, I don't care. I am highly doubtful if the spinning ball idea, but who knows maybe we live on a spinning ball? 🤷‍♂️
I remember when I first considered it. It really bothered me. How can this be?!?! I was less bothered by the thought of being lied to than I was to being challenged on a belief that was core to my "world view" lol. It took a few minutes to realize none of it mattered in any way. How dumb.

Cool that it didn't take you too long to get that. I'm probably still working on it, haha. I think you're right that we can have a lot of ego riding on our views. ...And that's a whole other realm of exploration.

Whether you believe it's a globe, concave, a realm, on a turtles back, etc it really doesn't matter. It's not like the world is gonna stop turning on account of it.

No, you bow to your Australian overlords. Lockdowns, gun confiscations. Fuck that, mate.

We honestly don't get that worked up about it.

The lockdowns weren't heaps of fun, but we could see the insane levels of infections in countries that didn't lock down so we figured it's probably for the best to not be around heaps of random people.

We've got no need for guns either and most people don't want them loose in our communities. Just increases the chance of nutcases getting their hands on them and only need to look at countries with open gun access to see the problems it causes.

Common sense prevails.

I will say that watching a handful of Christians fighting and arguing over their infantile concept of a flat earth, and who is or isn't a satanist is like watching 5 year olds fight and argue about whether Captain American could beat Ironman.

IT'S
NOT
REAL.

You fell out before you addressed the Matthew 25 post on page 80.

I don't see acceptance as a pharisee. He's isn't pretending to be a minister of righteousness, he's not a religious authority figure. He's not really religious at all that I know of other than being a regular at rig talk.
yea sorry, had to run. I will address it.
doesn't matter about their title, it was their behavior Christ was addressing.
you and I are just not going to agree on this, He has publicly on this very forum refereed to himself as a "luciferin" = satanist.
I will take a man for this word.

It's a sacrament so we bapitize infants. The early church baptized infants. If we expected christians to have deep theological understanding before being baptized or receiving communion then most would never receive the sacraments. It's really not any different than taking your infant to church even though it won't understand anything happening there.
I understand, but the early church also sold "indulgences".
Just because the early church did something, doesn't make it right.
Would you agree?

There is a difference between baptism and taking your child to church, a very big one.

I know him better than you. He questions a lot of stuff. If you are just going to cast him away on account of your perception of some falsehood you feel he is clinging to then what is the point of evangelism?
with respect man, what we are seeing on this thread from you isn't evangelism towards him, it's defense of him.

He should be in your prayers before you jump all over him for what he may or may not believe. Then it doesn't matter if he's trolling you or not.
it's difficult for me as a Christian to follow your reasoning here.
Jesus clearly "jumps all over these people" - and @acceptance is claiming to be a satanist.
see scripture below

John 8
44You are of your father the devil, and you want to do the desires of your father. He was a murderer from the beginning, and does not stand in the truth because there is no truth in him. Whenever he speaks a lie, he speaks from his own nature, for he is a liar and the father of lies. 45But because I speak the truth, you do not believe Me. 46Which one of you convicts Me of sin? If I speak truth, why do you not believe Me? 47

I was missing Daniel days ago. You're just jaded by protestant christianity IMO, which is understandable. It's why I didn't go to church for 20 years.
see this is more inflammatory speech, the very speech that led us to odds.

What do you mean by "protestant Christianity"?
can you define that please.

I stand corrected regarding Jesus (And Christ) not being in the OT. Apparently Yeshua (Joshua) was already being translated as Jesus. And Christ (Christos) were already in use in the Greek translation (Septuagint). So there ya go, you have Jesus Christ in the OT before the NT.
I am not sure how this helps the new testament case though.... it could be seen as evidence that the NT writers were simply building on language derived from the greek translation and greek themes, IE fusing Greek religious themes as well, as with Dionysus, who was born of a virgin (on December 25th), king of kings (gods), performed miracles such as turning water into wine, son of God, etc. And upon his death, he was resurrected. Anyways, you don't see "Anointed one" translated as Christ from the Masoretic text, or Joshua as Jesus. Joshua was a military leader and "Anointed one" was a label applied to multiple people, including King David, as well as the supposed messiah.

@VonBonfire - now regarding the parable of the talents. Those who receive divine grace, receive blessings in addition to eternal life.
Those who do not receive grace and despise it will ultimately not gain eternal life.

I don't see how you could use the parable to explain the losing of one's salvation?
Surely you would agree many hear the gospel, but don't do anything with it?

what "new testament case" are you referring to?
