I believe in God, and this is my proof. That beautiful Siamese boy didn't just happen by accident.
That said, I don't think God gives 2 fucks about any human. Or maybe that's free will?
And don't get me started on JHFC, the selective savior. Save some, but not others.

Orthodoxy is preserved unconquerable so good luck tearing it from me. I gladly accept your challenge.
To quote a well know member...

Bro, are you retarded or what?

Love how you selectively quoted me so you can pretend you're being all high, mighty, and unwavering. Let me remind you of the rest.
And just to be clear, I'm not judging/attacking what you actually believe. I'm calling you out for attacking others' faith as you always do. I'm also suggesting your faith isn't as strong as you think it is because you constantly have to go on the attack.

Orthodoxy is preserved unconquerable; what the fuck are you even going on about. How did you jump from me calling you out for attacking other's faith and suggesting you do that because your faith in your religion isn't as strong as you think to I'm challenging orthodoxy? The two are separate things. Your pompous superiority complex seems more like a poor attempt to hide your weak convictions. That you immediately jump to thinking you have to defend orthodoxy when that wasn't even part of the equation doesn't help either.

Ya know, there's a big difference between correcting someone if they said something incorrectly about orthodoxy and flat out attacking someone for their beliefs. What you're constantly doing is bullying 101. You have to tear others' faith/beliefs down to make yourself feel better about your own. Why else you you behave this way? Seems to me someone who is secure in their own belief wouldn't be threatened by and feel the need to berate others for theirs.

Notice how I haven't tried to counter anyone's beliefs as being wrong and interject my own as the only truth. That's because I feel secure in what I choose to believe. People can have whatever faith they want or have no faith at all. Others' religion and/or faith doesn't shake me to the core the way it seems to do to you. I feel zero need to attack others for their faith or even defend my own beliefs.

If you wish you can keep putting how insecure you are in your convictions on display by continuing to attack everyone else. Or you can let people believe what the want without having to berate them and cut out all the religious bullying crap. I have a feeling on which road you'll take...

Thanks for all the feedback.
Yes, I was more looking for people's belief systems.
And the Why behind them.
My view is that no one is right or wrong.
It is your own personal journey and search for the truth.
I'm agnostic and only believe in the natural world.
I also realize I am in the minority.
I respect YOUR beliefs though.
Carry on...

To quote the same well known forum member "you sound angry bro"

You stuck your beak in a theological argument I was having with thumpicker that we've had ten times before and you got offended. You seem more mad about it than anyone else. If you wanted to discuss christian history and theology, I'm game. All protestantism and roman catholicism is a heresy. It's how you go from one truth for a thousand years post Christ to 45,000 christian truths to today being whatever you hold dear to your heart is the truth even if it's murder and mayhem. There is only one path to the Lord, Jesus Christ, and his visible church is orthodoxy so we must ready our hearts to die on that hill even in martyrdom if necessary. That's where my brain is at and that is where in my soul I have rested my peace so toss your best stones and may I be ready to receive them as a blessing. Best-VBF

I used one of your posts as a jumping off point to say attitudes like those is why I don't care for organized religion in general. I even said as much in my follow up post. I didn't stick my nose in your argument with thumbpicker and got offended. You just took it that way; might be a comprehension issue on your part.

I'm not mad about anything either. But I'm not going to sit back while you bully people about their beliefs using orthodoxy as justification for it. Protestantism, Catholicism, and other religions may be a little different than Orthodoxy, but just because they're driving a different car doesn't mean they're not all on the same road. And that by no means gives you the right to berate someone on the religious traditions they practice. Not sure why you keep wanting to bring murder and mayhem into it as a religious truth. Anyone who holds that as a belief likely took the wrong exit and ended up in the ghetto. Doesn't mean they can't find their way back and take the next onramp. You represent Orthodoxy, yet keep bullying and scolding everyone who doesn't believe the same as you. All you're doing is dragging Orthodoxy through the mud with you.

You'll have to back that up with some examples. People make mistakes, yes, but orthodoxy is preserved unconquerable forever. It is the visible body of Christ on earth. If Christ has no visible body then everything the church teaches is a lie because it means satan overcame the church. We don't believe that.
It's a question of which church(es) are the body of Christ/righteous remnant.

Did you really expect this thread to fully stay on topic? I thought everything was going along well with everyone stating their beliefs and being respectful of others. That is until Vonnie rolled in telling everyone they're wrong. Even @311splawndude somewhat predicted he'd be the disruption in post #2.
That may have come out a bit wrong. Von is my buddy because he accepts me for who I am. He and I are on opposite ends of the spectrum as it relates to this topic. He IS very opinionated obviously when it comes to this topic - hence the jab. But I knew he was already back and would be jumping in soon. That said, I would ask him to back down a bit as you are friend too, and I need you two to get along

@VonBonfire - for this thread I suggest we just accept everyone's beliefs and have an open mind/ear. Sometimes your comments come across like, "I'm understanding what you are saying but it doesn't matter because you are wrong". Maybe take out those harsher subjective truths? I mean, we get where you are coming from. :dunno:

I was being a little facetious with that post and meant it more as a joke responding to @Monkey Man I figured you were making a light jest with Von.

IDK how you'd think that would work when we all can't even decide on an El Presidente'.

You read me well because what I am saying is I get where you are coming from but you are wrong, so I am def communicating that clearly. Anyone is welcome to say the same in return. Thumbpicker does all the time and it's pretty much why I still enjoy talking to him when he doesn't have his accounting jerk shirts on.

The most hotly contested threads in OT have been the space threads and the religion threads. Me and @acceptance went round and round on the last religion one but are pretty cool with each other today after having found some common ground in the space world:LOL:. I was flat out mean to Daniel in one of the space threads and we are cool today. I had to apologize for that one. I don't have any beefs but yes, maybe I am a little blunt with my statements and it gets me into trouble. I will try to be more sensitive to the needs of others from here on out.

But you're wrong!

I know it is part of the banter and also part of your style. Just don't fucking scare people off to the point where they don't want to talk to you :D

It is true that @VonBonfire and I have had some heated debates. I'm proud that they never devolved to personal attack. Or at least not excessively :ROFLMAO: I also concur that Von has a bit of a gruff Texan "tell 'ya what he thinks" demeanor, which I appreciate and don't take personally. My experience has been that he is very accepting of people with different beliefs and owns up if he takes it too far. I think we're similar in that while we like to debate, even throw some jabs, at some point it's more productive to focus on common ground with people.
