Wonder

Mark V and VII simul class isn't like that
Gibson Garage said the reissue can run them in the outter pair. Apparently they called Doug West to confirm it.

Reason it isn’t published has to do with current el34’s not being able to handle its plate voltages, hence the recommendation to only use NOS.

Didn't the originals have a power cord?

Been on the Sweetwater list for one, will see how it goes. Looks like they had the rectos in the back too (side question, the mutliwatts are being discontinued?). If this and the recto fall flat, I'll just about be done with newer Mesa amps and will stick to my Mark IV, and hunt down a 90s DR.

If the MW is being discontinued, there's no way it's going to be for the upcoming reissue. The Multi Watt and the 2-channel reissue are aimed at entirely different market segments.

The MW is the modern hard rock channel switcher that can do three footswitchable sounds with a whole bunch of modes to accommodate a of bunch potential tones at all gain levels, while the reissue is pretty clearly laser focused straight at the old school hardcore enthusiasts who want exactly one (ok, two if you count Red and Orange channels) gigantic kickass boosted high gain tone.

My bet is that if the MW is being discontinued, they're going to replace it with something they view as equally "practical" or at least as versatile as the MW.

^ I think the fella a couple posts up was just asking “IF” the new recto will replace the MW. I hope not, the MW’s sound killer and work better in band mix than any recto I’ve had.

Already wondering about the difference in early production vs later production models. 😂
In March 2025 they switched to a smaller transformer and then in July 2025 they tweaked it a bit to add more gain due to player feedback.

Who's tempted? I am. Just for the fun of owning one. Will contact my local dealer to see if how I can order one.

If we're lucky, that's a sign that maybe they actually did a 105PT reissue with 500 PV, unlike the JP & the VII big iron running around 460.

It can't be new, looks like a NOS 105 transformer. The relic is not mentioned anywhere, and it has too much rust and scratches to be called new. Even the plates which this transformer was made of are dented.

Sorry dude, that's a new one. Same sheet metal cap as the current VII and JP PTs, and the discoloration is also pretty common in the new ones.
It's just hard to believe they release new amps with transformers like these. And I heard that 105s are no longer manufactured.
This one on the picture looks like it's 30 years old.

That is what the new made in mexico schumacher's look like and all new mesa amps come with now. They are not built as nice as the USA stuff in the past that is for sure.
I just don't understand how an amplifier that costs up to 5k euros in Europe has a transformer that looks like it was taken out of a high humidity storage facility in which he lay for 30 years. For that price it should be polished like a baby's ass and covered in gold.

I work for a power/electronics company and some of our manufacturing has also switched to mexico and it's worse than what we are getting from china if that tells you anything. I would never buy a new mesa with these transformers.

It's priced for 100% pure military grade nostalgia, my dude.
