Damn!!

AP?!??!!?

Gut wrenching.
Here's to the mullet man....
Yeah that was really hard to watch... Jeesh the way he landed on the side of the bike whiskey throttled, he's lucky he didn't separate his shoulder.
Hope he comes back swinging!
I don't really know what to think about the deegan thing, my guess would be he's just a kid who forgot his team has a lot more at stake than just him. That was a dumbass move on a team mate in that heat race context. Man, JS must have been ready to eat metal planks by the end.
Im sure there was a meeting of the minds after all that

Had no idea Tomac had a neck problem from last week, that explained a lot..
Coop is being pretty smart about the whole thing, he quietly avoided all the chaos and is still on top.
Good for Sexton getting a win, you could tell nobody could feel worse for AP7 than he did even though he won, says a lot about that young mans character.

Andersons season is spiraling the drain.. Hard to tell what the problem is. Bike seems to be pretty solid, I don't see any obvious handling issues.
might be overthinking it all, head shit is the hardest thing to fix.

Hailey tales P2 qualifying for group C. He was at Paradise MX when I was there in October.
Yeah its amazing to see guys show up at local tracks and crush it, then struggle to qualify at big races. At least he got a shot, it never even occurred to me to even try
On my best day with the wind to my back I was a really beat up mid pack B rider who knew Id never get there
But I sure loved it!

B class is nothing to sneeze at. I see guys on FB all the time running there mouths about privateers and lower group riders. I tell them to line up with them and see how you do or shut the hell up. Most B and C riders would easily lap the local guys.

Jason Dragonetti (Paradise MX owner) doing some GoPro laps. Makes my ribs hurt a little watching this, hehe.

I should clarify... I can't stand smoke blowers either, so I dam sure don't want to be one
I ran B at the local level in the southeast, the B and C guys you see at the big races are much faster than I was. As you said, those guys would and did lap me when they showed up at a bigger local race. It was a constant reality check that I was not fond of...
But I never ran my mouth about it, I was painfully aware of my skill level...

I copy and wasn’t implying you were a shit talker. Anybody that has the balls to get out there and risk life in a wheel chair or worse has my respect.

I’m actually happier trail riding anyway. I’m 48 and prefer a little slower pace now a days. The ruts are not as friendly to me as they use to be.

We’re heading up to Masters Motoplex in SC sometime soon as well. Big facility with a lot of options. Honda HRC flat track team has practiced there a bit. “Over 22 miles of trails” and a few different tracks.

Have you ever rode the Kentuck ORV trail system at Mt Cheaha in Alabama?
We used to go there once a year, but we had to change gearing tires and especially suspension to do a weekend there. They have a camping area right on the trailhead and the trails were absolutely fantastic!
Tree roots are really tuff with MX valving no matter where your clickers are set though
Id run a Scott's stabilizer too when we went there, it made a huge difference on a 2 day ride

I have not. We’ve been discussing doing a 2-3 day trip somewhere with cabin rentals type thing. Just not sure where yet. I’ll put that one on the list.

Oh man you guys have to check that out. They have cabins and other stuff, but make sure your stuff is padlocked at night, one year we stayed in the motel on top of the mountain and someone tried to get in one of the trailers.. They failed, but they sure tried.. The cabins are much less visible from the main road. But the trail system is fantastic. High speed trails through the most beautiful parts of Alabama . Run some durable tires, the rock sections will eat softer compounds alive. Also more durable brake pads if it rains, I went through a new set of pads the first day one year, they stayed soaking wet and the whole "brake slide-in and fire-out" thing proved to be too much for them.. I didn't even know that was possible, on MX tracks, your braking hard then going through the turns under power. The woods thing was a different animal I had to learn..

Yeah the cowboy got bucked off his 450. That was scary. The crowd seemed to really feel for the guy, and that was nice to see. Hope he bounces back strong.

If Deegan is smart he'll have learned. It wasn't Barcia-llistic, and some of it also rests on Smith, but I'm sure the guys all got together and talked it out. Now, if he does something similar again, then it'll get interesting.

The post race interview with AP was even harder to watch..
He handled it really well, made no excuses and owned it, while fighting off tears for being so close. It gives me a whole new respect for AP

This one?

Hunter weighs in

Sooooooooooo...
Nope, he didn't learn shit from that..
Hes a youtube kid who has everything he does put up on vids where people who don't even ride know who he is. They keep talking about his super high level pedigree when his dad won 1 (!!) race and ghost rode his bike over the finish line, potentially putting anyone on the other side in harms way. Then never accomplished anything else in MX/SX so he became a "metal militia" guy who did jump tricks for a living and bitched about the "corporate system" in MX/SX because he wasn't good enough to cut it there... He sounded like a butthurt little girl.
Now I'm really starting to dislike the kid, I expected this at first, but he seemed to carry himself better than that up to this point. I remember the whole "believe the hype" period with mike allessi, his dad really screwed him up and to this day he still does stupid shit because of the inflated view he has of himself. Just a few weeks ago, he took out a good friend of mine, Heath Harrison, at a race in Milton Fla. who spanked that ass at Loretta's and he just could not deal with the fact that someone else was faster than he was there. He went all the way across the track in the first turn just to put him down and they both went down.. Heath laughed about it later and called it a pussy move
I get what Hunter was saying but I don't think he understood the question as it was being asked..
Just my 2 cents as a nobody..

I will say Deegan is way more talented than his dad ever was and he will be winning soon enough. I just can't stand that kind of "I'm good enough that it only matters what I want" attitude..
The kid already has all the pieces of the puzzle there, but that attitude is gonna be a liability for any team if he chooses to stay on that path.
And I'll just bet that if he carries that attitude into the future, he's just "entitled" enough to blame his misfortune on everyone else just like his dad did...
But I doubt that will happen. He will figure out that he's really not that special, just like allessi did

I’m really hoping he just doesn’t know how to express himself clearly quite yet. That response sounded exactly like a kid sitting up there. He needs to learn humility and the team concept.
