Sure, part of it is certainly to teach inclusivity and being yourself. None of that is a bad thing unless you have a personal prejudice against drag, or find it “threatening” to begin with.
I do not
Again, I don't have a personal prejudice against drag people themselves, I just don't think it is appropriate for children that's all. I feel it is an adult concept geared for adults.

And I believe only some of it is. If the only comics you knew were Andrew Dice Clay and Richard Pryor, you’d be shocked to hear of a comedian doing a kids party.

But comedy is well established in society and we know that there are all kinds of types of it. I think when most people hear drag, they have a common picture of what a drag show is and that is their idea of drag. Which is totally understandable, but for me I believe there can be different types of their performances just like anything else

Kids aren't stupid man. My daughter thinks it's hilarious to put on a fake mustache and pretend she's grandpa. She doesn't have an existential crisis when the mustache comes off about her sexuality

Yes. If a kid comes out of drag story hour feeling more confident to do whatever weird shit they into, I think it is a success. I do not in any way shape or form see it was a “recruitment” to drag.
we have enough future criminals being raised by single mothers already. :D

I don't. As a parent, I feel that is dangerous to think that way. It is my job as a responsible father, not a Drag Queen, for my kids feeling confident about certain behaviors that are acceptable.

I never said that. I feel like your adding things to make a point.

I respect that back and forth conversation.

Then why do you think drag is confusing to them?
You really have nothing to worry about when it comes to what I think.

"But whoso shall cause one of these little ones who believe in Me to fall, it were better for him that a millstone were hung about his neck, and that he were drowned in the depth of the sea."

I think as a parent, it’s my job to explain things to my kids that they see. The world is full of crazy shit and I think they see more confusing stuff on the news than they do in school. They aren’t immune to it no matter what we do, so all we can do is help them navigate it. We watch dancing with the stars as a family and one of the contestants last season was a drag star. The topic came up, we explained it, and it was over.

I think all teachers, especially at elementary levels, stress self confidence and being yourself, so I don’t think non teachers reading stories about the same thing is inappropriate. And that is why I brought up recruitment, because to me, the main reason someone would take offense to a drag queen teaching self confidence and expression, is because they feel that they were trying to say that the children should also do drag. I do not think that is the case.
Though you did not say this, I think the frequent mentions of “grooming” sort of strengthens my reasoning behind this.

What does that have to do with Dr Phil?

Anything you want to instill in children for a lifetime needs to happen ages 0-7. Drag queen story hour. Perfect for exposing kids to confusing situations that the parents will deem normal. Working to completely re-tool society away from traditional sexual and family mores.

They're implicitly, if not explicitly, saying "This is an option." Not everyone agrees, bigoted or not. I feel silly for continuing this with you, so please just acknowledge/admit and we can move on: drag/trans/sexuality is being promoted, under the guise of "Tolerance" and "Self expression" (Or whatever), and not everyone agrees with it, bigoted or not.

I don’t agree with your use of promotion. I believe tolerance and self expression are what they are pushing.
I don’t think there are any other ulterior motives. Gay/trans are not a choice, and I see absolutely no reason why people doing drag would promote more people doing drag. It makes absolutely no sense.

The only reason I see anyone thinking that A) drag people wouldn’t read to children for the same reasons everyone else reads to children or B) if they were “promoting” the lifestyle, you see that lifestyle as substandard.

Either way is bigotry. I’m sorry you don’t like being called that, but that’s what bigotr/prejudice is. If hearing that makes you feel bad, imagine how the people you are speaking out against feel.

It’s probably why they push self confidence because they’ve grown up being shit on by other people their whole lives
