Love the Type O Negative sound. And the STP Core tone. I guess I just love heavily Chorused guitars.
Got a Demeter bass pre but want for that Tri-Modal tone with the old school Boss green chorus. I believe he used that with a Rocktron Intelifex or Intelliverb to get that Godly wall of lush rock tone.

I thought STPs Core was a cool detune/chorused tone. Not exactly sure what was used though.

Love the tone of this album. Jonas Hansson is one of the most underrated guitarists ever. Stuck in Yngwie's shadow unfortunately, despite coming out first.

@ghosty999 👋 Fellow Enchant fan here, they have good tone period. Tons of good recommendations here. I always really liked Allan Holdsworths tone got when he was using his Mesa/Boogie setup in the late 80's and into the 90's.

His clean tone.

Yep; I knew about the Demeter stuff but not what effects he used. I played a Demeter modded Marshall long ago. Very smooth sounding.
Never played Demeter modded Marshall, but the TGP-3 and TGA-3 head I’ve had I find to be very gritty in a different way than other amps, almost fuzzy, but somehow smooth at the same time and syrup-y on the red ch, brighter and more 800-y on the green ch, and fender tweed-like on the yellow 1st ch. It’s an interesting flavor

Friedman posted this pic on HRI back in the day when he convinced DeLeo to stop using the old Rockman MIDIPedal-

He uses the CE-1 to split the signal, one side goes to the Demeter, the other into that pre-amp next to the wah then into the AC30. That's been that dude's rig since the start and he hasn't really fucked with it. I think he used most of that rig on Core, he goes over his whole rig history with Dave on this ToneTalk episode, great fuckin' episode, too. I know there's one particular patch on the Intelliflex he cites as being 'the one' in the episode.

Yeah, he used an Intelliverb, but an Intellifex should do it also. The Octopus preset is close.

I’d call …And Justice For All processed. That tone is iconic (for some) but so unnatural.

Lots of good choices here that are right in my wheelhouse....The heavy delays/verbs on this solo section..though common and known to us, still hits me to this day. This is the mind journey solo here:

Nice!! We are a rare bunch. I think Doug Ott was a Mesa Tri-axis guy for most of Enchant. Cant see the rack in the live DVD "Live At Last". It's crazy to me how they haven't received more press.

Love the Holdsworth! Had that album on last week. Didn't he often use active pickups like Shawn Lane?

@ghosty999 Holdsworth used a custom shop Seymour Duncan which is supposed to be similar to a PAF (Duncan 59) but with two rows of screw polls. His pickups in his Carvins/Kiesels were NOT wax potted and had alnico 5 magnets (his Seymours were supposed to be AlNiCo 5's). Bridge pickup clocks in at Ω 8.8.
