hi, which one of these 3 midi pedalboard would you suggest me to get?
they're pretty much similar for functions and price.

Rocktron MIDI Mate Pedalborad

Engl Z12 Pedalborad

Behringer FCB1010 Pedalborad

thanx!

Depends on the functions you need. For switching presets only Z-12 for sure. Made to last and quite "small".

If you need any extra functionality like expression pedals the Behringer will probably work best.

i need a midi channel switcher pedalboard in order to change channels, activate the mid cuts, volume 2...

I've never had a problem with the Z-12 so far and it seems to be more sturdy than the Behringer and many other footswitches.
You should also check the Ground Control and some old ART midi pedal boards. They're pretty good too.

ok :) i don't like the alluminium grill look but i guess its secondary compared to necessity :P

I didn't like the alluminium either so I applied a black lamination and marked all presets with white and green tape. Works a lot better on stage as well now.

ok thanx everyone ;)

i'll think on it ;)

can the herbert power the z12 with the 5pin midi cable ?

Cheers

It can, but you have to change the pin assignment inside the Z-12 because Engl and Diezel use different pins for power supply.

@Scott: I'm sure the Columbus is great and built like a tank, but it obviously (and no offense meant here) is overpriced. The Z-12 can do everything the Columbus can do, just without having the cool look. So only if I had enough money that I wouldn't have to think about prices I'd go for the Columbus.

that's the same for me.

i i was rich i'd buy everything with the D :)

so i have to tale apart a midi cable, then to move and change the position of the pins in order to fit the needs of the herbert? right?

Either this, or you mod the board. Keeping a possible resale of the Z-12 in mind, modding the cable will probably be the best.
I'm using those cables: https://www.thomann.de/de/the_sssnake_pm ... ikabel.htm
They are quite cheap but haven't had any problems yet. All pins are connected and with the jack they're using it should be very easy to mod.

Axess Electronics FX-1. Control's Herbert and various other Midi equipment. Plus it's PC configurable :D

Tech 21 Midi Moose, easy control layout, powered through the herbert with a 5 pin midi cable, has a tough metal housing, not expensive. Seriously look into it.

Columbus (but bring in your sunglasses...."blue LED's power" )

Duude, but it looks so much better than the Z-12. ;) It just goes really well with the Herbert, and if you're gonna spend that much on an amp you might as well get the right controller for it..

It certainly does and I agree with you statement BUT only concerning anything the actually has a effect on the tone. A midi switcher just switches, so as long as it covers yours needs and can survive "stage life", which the Z-12 does really well, there is no need to spent so much money on a unit that just looks better, even if it might look way better.
