So, what's the status of your SLO addiction? Is it now in decline, or are you still planning on running a SLO/CCV rig?

I will use the SLO to keep my CCV fresh for gigs....

And, I will go on to say that this particular CCV, the Prototype, is the first amp I have played that doesn't need any assistance in the form of a 2-amp rig. The SLO is good. The CCV is better. It's huge.....
Don't take this the wrong way, but that's quite a statement to make. The "CCV is better than the SLO" part I mean... The SLO100 is legendary! I've heard the clips with Mark Day playing the newest CCV, and while the CCV sounds fabulous - I certainly wouldn't say it sounds "better" than any of the other top-shelf amplifiers on the market. I wouldn't put the CCV in the same camp as Soldano, Steavens, Cornford, Diezel...etc. Not yet! Let's let the CCV do the talking, and try to keep the "hype" to a minimum for now. We will need to hear just how well the CCV can cut-through next to the "gold-standard" which is the mighty Soldano SLO100.

I think the CCV will stand on it's own... It doesn't need to be hyped! Just my opine.

Cool! I can't wait to get one of these amps. Looks fabulous - sounds fabulous! What more does any man (or woman) need?

I get what you're saying, but let's not take Steve's comments too seriously here - he's just saying that, to his ear, the CCV is gettin 'er done.

And you have to keep in mind, Steve has always been clear that he doesn't know.....

Steve is referring to his Ccv PROTO. Have you seen his? It's all labeled in marker. It doesn't mean the regular CCV will be the same. We will see as he is getting his production amp soon.

Interesting... I have not seen this one or heard this amp. Are the specs going to be the same in the production model? (briskly rubbing hands together...  )

I'm going for vintage white tolex with vintage white chicken heads... Brad said it's doable. That bad mamma-jamma's going to sit right next to my XTC 100B!

         Nobody should take me seriously !!!!!!

Love the SLO and could make it work, but to get from A to B........I got to AB/Y with it. Get it?

The CCV on the other hand went from A to B and doesn't need to be run with anything to deliver the goods. This CCV covers that much ground for me. Channel 2 stays in full-on Jose onslaught and Channel 1, I can peel back a bit to a really cool thrash sort of crunch. Run through two cabs, it is every bit the beast that it is made out to be.

I can't imagine loving any amp more than my 100B and early 101B. I'm Koo-Koo for the 100B! Koo-Koo for the 100B!

The white CCV "cool-factor" alone is enough to warrant the purchase.

You best get ready to "say goodnight to the bad guy."

Repeated from another thread......

CCV ownership, step by step:

1) Buy one.
2) Sell everything else.
3) Own the stage.

Well, I've heard the Mark Day / CCV clips, and I'm definitely not hearing anything that would prompt me to sell my 100B or '95 101B   It's a great sounding amp, and will make a nice addition to my collection. The worst thing that can happen to the CCV is to have too many fan-boys "gushing" how the CCV is so much "better" than all other amps. It's cool that CCV owners are happy with their purchase - but let's wait until more of them are in circulation.

Who are you calling "fan-boys"? You don't quite know me well enough. So, you can drop that already.

How can you tell what an amp sounds like in the room from clips? I never could. Things that I like about some amps cannot be captured in a clip. Punch, dimensionality, feel. How the amp fills the room spatially, etc. Clips can can us an idea but it is far from accurate and leaves allot to be desired. I have purchased amps from clips that I liked and some I did not. There is a reason why Marks amps are popular. Just like there is a reason Reinhold's amps are popular as well. I wouldn't say you were a Reinhold Bogner fan boi for loving your 100B. With that said the CCV lives up to the hype is all. Why, It's extremely versatile. The clean tones are excellent as well as low, mid and high gain. It's not a one trick pony that does one thing very well. It does it all very well. It fills the room and has a large sound. This is usually accomplished with an amp that has a more open signature in its tone. The CCV, while it can be set more open, accomplishes filling the room by punching. Not a punch that will fatigue you either. I have had punchy amps, one that actually hurt my teeth   . The Cameron is unique. It has allot of gain and tightness but I can still feel the strings. The note seperation is quite different. The tone has a presence to it. Almost like the incredible hulk is coming out of your speakers .Hard to explain. When you play the amp you will see what I mean. I had mine next to a Twin Jet, an amp known for a big hit. In a fight the CCV would win. Why. It has more presence in the room. As Steve said he only needs to run the CCV, This is coming from a guy who has had everything and has always run dual amps in his live rig. When you bring the incredible hulk with you to your gig, you will not need anyone else. He will kick all their asses without help. I think this is what he is saying. Am I a fan boi. No. I just like the amp like you love your 100B.
