plus I don't think we've heard the final version of the CCV - have we?

I think my dad said something similar back in 1959 about this Les Paul guitar, but he decided to wait for the bugs to be worked out... :hys:

Well, I'm now hearing about the prototype. Was Mark Day playing the final design? I think the question is relevant...

Is your dad retarded?

I'm just messing around. I'm not sure if they are planning changes for the 2nd run or future runs. I'm sure if they're built over time, changes will happen. Just the evolution of any product. You never know which one is going to be the "gold" one.

There are no changes planned for the CCV going forward. It sounds like we want it too and it is the final version of the CCV model. Instead of changing a model every week and confusing everyone with revisions like some other manufactures do we will just introduce new designs. The production CCV is what we envisioned for the model when we started.

Dammit man! My trigger finger is a git'in itchy fer a CCV. Keep this up, and I'm a gonna be a sleep'in outside wit the chick'ins!

Man, You are adding to the hype. Pull the trigger. :poke: It will end you're suffering. Are you afraid it will send your Bogner packing? Only so much room in your chicken coup. Put a CCV in there and the wolves will go running. :hys:

I want it to have it's own sound, and judging by the 2011 LA Amp clips - it does! The clips sound great, and the amp has it's own thing happening. Using Pete Thorn's clip as a reference - the CCV sounds like a cross between a Cornford MK and a Bogner 100B with a side-dish of "whoop-ass"!

I'm hearing great tone coming from the CCV for sure! However, I'm not hearing anything that makes me want to put my 100B (or any of my current amps) up for sale - not at all. The 100B and the CCV belong together... Just like Bogey and Bacall!

You really cannot go by clips. I owned an Ecstacy 20th and a Cornford MK50. You can dial the CCV to have some of the Bogner mid structure in the low mids. Bogners(I've owned three)) have a certain grindy chewy aspect to the mids. The CCV is not like the MK50. The MK50 has a unique low treble, The lows are on the loose side but not in a bad way.No Bogner or Cornford has the punch the CCV does. Not even the Uber. The bass notes come out and smack you in your nuts. It depends how you set it up. I would compare the bass to a Wizard as far as how round and big it can be. The CCV can be set up very smooth and dark, dark and bright. Allot of variation. I also really like the Marshall tones it has. It can be set to have this killer hairy tone in the treble. The CCV also has loads of different tones with all of the voicing switches. Various levels of compression and saturation. Not hyping the amp. Just telling you like I see it.And yes I own a new CCV.

not hype but the reason I got involved is the Cameron sounds were to my ear what I wanted to hear when I plugged my Les Paul in. It is the main reason I tracked Mark down and made this happen. It was a selfish play on my part to get the amp I wanted built and for the music I like the CCV is perfect for me.

Its a bonus that others dig it as well which seems to be the case.

As former Patriots owner Victor Kiam once said. "I liked it so much, I bought the company"

I'm humping air here looking at that vintage white CCV...

I find the MK50H II to have a bit more in the top-end department - but not so much in the MK50 though? That's the sound I was comparing it to... but you're right - I need to actually play one. Now where's my damn wallet!?

This guy has to be gaindeli/echodrive. JCC is that you? Quit hiding behind them tits-come out of the closet already. This back and forth sounds oddly familiar

Has anyone compared the CCV to the Cameron models on the AxeFX ? I personally wouldn't buy an AxeFX as they don't hold their value, but Mark Day's clips do sound quite tasty!

There is a clip somewhere that shows Dweezil playing the AxeII Cameron model. I would have posted the link, but I couldn't find it in the 5 seconds I actually spent looking for it.

I'm not the person you think I am, but I think I know who you're talking about. I purchased an amp from him off of ebay. Very cool guy! Best packing job I've ever seen for sure. Amp was better than he described, and he did a primo job building the hand-wired circuit board. It's one of the best sounding amps I own. He's also quite dashing! The chicks love him, and all the guys want to be him. He reminded me of Marlon Brando actually. I tried for an autograph, but he's not about all that... He's very down-to-earth, and is always willing to talk with his fans. He's a smooooth smooth.

Here's a pic of Mortega76 looking disappointed that his Axe II CCV sim (v2.0 firmware) wasn't sounding like/as good as the 2 real CCVs sitting next to it. ;)

Don't forget the OG tag......jcoopercameron

@ jcoopercameron- I LOVE Cornford amps....they have a certain something that works for me....I also love Mark's amps....if you like the Cornfords, it would be almost impossible to not like the CCV (although I don't think the reverse is necessarily true).

Buy one.... I'd be shocked if you were disappointed...seriously :D

Cliff's new 3.0 firmware for AxeII is close to being released. The thing he did different this time was he used the amp to model the Cameron sim. That last one was modeled after the schematic.

What I'm noticing with the AxeFX II that I have, is instead of trying to make patches of the amp sims that sound like their real counterpart, I'm making patches that sound like I want them to. Lately I've just been trying to get the best sounds out if it that I can, the axefx is missing some intangibles of a tube amp...but I do think they are getting closer and closer.
