What's your favorite guitar? And why?

One of mine is the Ibanez YY10. It's affordable but very well made, glows in the dark. Just really cool offset Talman style design but with a strat SSS configuration and the rare D neck (classifieds as a C neck).

It has Gotoh locking tuners, an actual Bone nut by Privy, Seymour Duncan Steve Miller The Joke pickups, a Wilkinson trem on the bridge. There's also a neck Shim. Just awesome stuff here.

Obviously by the pic, it glows in the dark without the black light.

It plays well. Everyone loves it.

The end.

That's a tough one...

Even though my EBMM Majesty 6 is more versatile...and would otherwise be my favorite.

It's going to have to be my EBMM Kaizen 6; I like how it plays, how it sounds, how it feels, comfortable, well balanced, etc. after getting my first one, it was so good I got three more, for a total of four (Indigo, white, mint, kryptonite). I'd still like one in Apollo Black.

My latest, in kryptonite:

That thing looks so cool, like it's from the future! Looks like it's super comfy too! ?

it is very comfortable and balanced, it fits me just right; I'm not small (6'5"), so the Majesty feels and looks like a toy on me; the Kaizen fits me well not that it's large; thin body, lots of contour carves, only thing I'd change is having a floating trem like the Majesty.

Wish I still had mine. Original late 80's White ESP Horizon, reverse Jackson style headstock. Sinclair trem with stock ESP single in the neck and MJ JB in the bridge. Like a fool sold it. Still have number 2 though being a late 90's Black Les Paul Standard with stock neck humbucker and 500T in the bridge.

My favorite was an Ibanez Axstar I got for my thirteenth birthday. It was the second electric I owned as a kid. My mom worked a block away from Rockin' Robin so I'd spend a lot of time after school there until she got off work and when those came out, really fell in love with them. Mine was just like the one in the photo below except it was in Ferrari red. I loved that guitar but a few years down the road in high school I sold it and kick myself to this day.

Thanks for sharing the beautiful story!

And the guitar looks just as beautiful, I can just picture it as red and with the black hardware, that would look stunning!

Close. Headstock was the original ESP Jackson lawsuit headstock and it was plain white not pearl. Plus the knob layout was the original three in a row...not sure why ESP couldn't get that detail right for a guitar that is supposed to be a reissue.

I thought about picking one of those up but my fandom dropped off of ESP years back. I've long said, the best guitars ESP ever produced are those models in that late 80's early 90's timeframe and players that have them should hang onto them as to me the quality is second to none. Now they really don't even feel the same to me.

Oh yeah, the red ones looked sick - I only used that photo I found as mine had double humbuckers on it as opposed to some of the other models:

I have to admit, I have over 30 guitars and

Damn! Well, hopefully you come across one from that era sooner than later :)

I haven't tried much from ESP but I do like the EC1000 Eclipse Deluxe which is kinda a modern, faster Les Paul or an alternative to Les Paul I should say

Probably have to go with my LTD/Lynch “Burnt Tiger”. @Fiesta Red owned it, and he let me play it one day. I almost immediately told him that if he ever was going to sell it, let me have the first crack at it.
There’s just something about it that works for me.
That is pretty sick! Pretty unique cut going on there :o

If it's favorite guitar I own/have owned, it'd probably be my Warmoth that I bought from Guitar Center's used department from a Washington store when I worked at the one in Chattanooga. Basic super strat with beautiful woods, 24.75" scale, Floyd, Duncans, stainless frets, etc. That, or my black Custom Burny Les Paul I should've never sold.

If it's a favorite guitar I've played and always wanted, it'd probably be one of the tri-burst Les Paul Supremes. We had one at the GC I worked at and I always marveled at it and was just dumbfounded by the finish over the flamed maple top and back and just always wanted one.

Funny you say that., I've been an ESP fan since the late 80's. I was debating on selling several 90's Vintage plus (2 strat, one Floyd) recently, and after playing them this weekend, I'm not sure if they are going anywhere.

To the OP - my fave for tone is my 77 LP - favorite for playability is one of my GMW's.

Have you looked at new ESP pricing lately? Unless you are dying or just generally ready to offload I would say those are worth keeping for the time being.
