Lots of great tones come to mind, but for my main style of classic metal I'll go with the following in no particualr order:

VH - II & Fair Warning
Lynch - Under Lock & Key and Back for the Attack
Demartini - Invasion of Your Privacy
Jake - Voodoo Highway
Letekro - Tell No Tales
Hoffman - Metal Heart

There are too many bands that I absolutely LOVE the tone of, arch enemy, kse, decapitated...

My 6505 gets me the tone Ive pretty much always wanted...

My have been said already.

The tone is OK on this tune. Just wanted to post it cause it fucking RAWKS

I've built my current rig around getting that Entombed/Dismember tone, the "Sunlight Studios" sound. That raw and blistering chainsaw guitar you hear in early Swedish death metal. It's not technically a "good tone", but it sounds great to my ears.

I love Entombed's guitar tone. I like Wolverine Blues/Uprising a little better but still like Clandestine a lot. I heard they used the Boss Heavy Metal pedal.

Old school 80's metal:

New school modern metal:

And who could forget the "Evil Pumkin"

Ill put my two cents in:
Since we have a lot of 5150 guys: Favorite 5150 tone come from Kalmah - Swampsong and the Black Waltz https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4jmj_ochRjk

Favorite lead without a doubt comes from Wintersun

Favorite Low tones probably come from Behemoth. Not the prettiest sound, and overprocessed, but conveys a powerful message of sweet low end with that just melts in my mouth... and is more tasteful than a lot of other low end heavy bands

Interesting how different people think of tone. And then Metallica for everyone else.

Man this is a blast from the plast! Walk Away was one of my favorite songs, and now you cant buy it, or download it, or anything because the dude dissappeared and his fans who have his albums are diehard

Gojira- "The Way of All Flesh"
Nevermore- "The Obsidian Conspiracy"

I'm still on the search to make one myself!

I hate the band but the tone on suicide season by BMTH is godly

Probably has alot to do with Fredrik Nordström producing the album
