The KK is one misunderstood amp, no good demos and those who have compared it to a CCV (which is said to be its model of origin, which really isnt tho) suggested the Cameron was just much better sounding. So yeah, maybe it's just a not so great model.

Always used 500k and treble bleed on my guitars. If too bright, that's the point of tone pot. And yeah, it's never too bright.

Imho Blackstar should focus more clean sounds and light crunch. I've played more than a few Blackstar amps (various models) and most of 'em sounded from very fine to great while clean, and mostly generic, muddy, polished and polite with OD engaged. It's a fine brand, their upper end cabs are...
