20thA XTC Review - about 20 hours in...

Holy shit man...!! That's it - game over... The Class A/AB switch too? Oh man. Dewd...I've got this exact amp sitting in my studio - loaded with EL34's, A/AB, Old/New, Full/Half, everything...and it just doesn't stop - it's as though the heavens put all those amazing tones you hear in yer head into a box, covered it in optional white tolex and said "here...enjoy!".

Nothing wrong with that, you have to get the amp that fits you the best. Good luck with your next amp, here is to hoping it is the one. If I had not already ordered one new to my specifications I would have been all over this.

Nothing wrong with that, you have to get the amp that fits you the best. Good luck with your next amp, here is to hoping it is the one. If I had not already ordered one new to my specifications I would have been all over this.

Thanks! I'm beginning to think the VH4 is the one amp that suits me best. I foolishly sold both of the ones I've had. I know there are things about the VH4 that some people don't like and I agree with them to a certain extent but it works for me.

I just had to share this with my RT posse...

The other night I was simply "in the zone" with my goldtop darkback '57 Lester, and my beloved 20thA. Just GIVIN' 'er... Anyway, I was soooooo into playing, riffing on some stuff that felt as though the Gods of Guitar were being transcended through my fingers onto my fretboard... I had NO idea where some of this shit was coming from, but it rocked, it jazzed, it bluesed, it kicked, it was....alive!!

Not sure when I noticed, but I noticed....

I was drooling

People!! I'm a near 40 year old guy, I've played music for 30 years of my life, I'm clean and sober (for those who might have thought this was the cause), and there I am - jammin' out like nobody's business...and drooling like a head kicked psyche ward patron.

Ya, that parts a cool feeling when it happens for sure. "One with the guitar". I love it. But I think I was sooooooooo in the zone, I just lost control of my facial muscle and started droolin'. I'm not going to overanalyze it, all I do know is, that was "deep in the zone" if there's ever been such a thing.
