I am SO pumped for you Tim!! You're gonna feel the love... Can't wait man, I really hope she speaks to you like mine does to me. I've searched a long time for a tone...whether or not that tone was even in my mind, hard to say - but the tone that's coming out of my 20thA is sublime...blissful...and damn right wicked!!

Post it to show it when you get it... I'll be eagerly awaiting :rawk:

Mine too is supposed to be here on Tues as well. I guess they shipped them at the same time. My problem is the shop is an hour away in Austin and I won't be able to go pick it up until Saturday.

Oh geez - 2 new 20thA's coming down the pipe?? mhenson, might I ask which version you ordered? EL34 versus 6L6, Class a/AB, etc? What about cabs?

I'm stoked for you both!!

V.

Well mine arrived at my work 20 minutes ago. Sitting quietly in her box right next to me. Tempting me ever so gently and... oh well you get the point. Starting to sound like Saw VII

I'm getting el34s with the a/ab switch. Plexi headshell. I'm gonna use my Mills cabs. I have v30s/GK100s but I'm gonna switch out the GKs for v30s or H30s.

Same here EL34 all the goodies with black grill cloth and plexi headshell. Going to use 2 Mesa Traditional 4x12's with V30s for starters. Will try some other speakers as well, but those cabs seem to work well with any amp I have used so far.

More input to come in the following weeks, good luck on your delivery and keep us updated!!

:picsorban: I need to see 'em boys... I am SO STOKED FOR YOU BOTH!!!!!!!!!!!

Hell YEAH - the EL34's are gonna blow yer socks off Braddahs...

Mine arrived at the dealer today. My friend works there and opened it up to play it for me to give me his opinion. This guy doesn't like Bogners very much and really dislikes the 101B and Classic. I wasn't expecting him to like this amp. He tells me it is on of the best amps he's ever played. I gotta wait till Sat. before I can drive up to Austin to pick it up.

Wow, how's that for a teaser eh?? "Yo Dude, your amp kicks ass!! I'm gonna play it till the weekend, thanks man...it's the best!!".

I had mine givin' er this afternoon... Loud. I'm utilizing a CAE/MXR Boost only on the Green for more volume, no breakup. But outside of this, the Blue and the Red, SIZZLIN'. I'm starting to notice that maybe - just maybe - a better quality set of power tubes may benefit this amp in the future, but it's not buggin' me to the point it needs to be done today. I just know - as it is right now - this thing kicks such serious ass, I'm in GAS'less heaven. I can't imagine what a quad of top-shelf glass will sound like in 'er.

Peace Gents...and Tim, you keep hammering away on yours till the honeymoon is over - then tell us what ya really think. Mhenson - the weekend's coming Brah...

DEWD said that he liked his alot more when he replaced the JJs with SED =c=. I have a quad of NOS Siemens (RFTs) that I set aside for this amp. They did wonders for my Uberschall. I'm know they'll kill in this XTC.

Siemens...nice...I'm not a big fan of JJ's, unless the amp is overly bright...That said, the amp sounds incredible as is, I can only imagine how perfect it would sound with the Siemens 34's...

I am not going to make any comments about the amp overall as I am still in the honeymoon phase. I will say after owning 2 101Bs, a Classic and a Fish Reissue that the 20th Anniversary is similar but very different in some ways. The red channel is finally usable to me, before I never liked it and the blue channel is what it was with just a bit more as well, hard to imagine they could enhance on it.

I only have about 6 hours on her so far. But I will say this will be a great amp and gas stopper for quite a few people looking for these types of tones.

I'd be into =C='s or possibly Tung Sols. Just fo'shitz'n'giggles...

Yeah, for sure. The =C='s really sound great in my Twin Jet...much better than stock, but then again I switched to 34's as well. :D

V, did you make any preamp swaps in your 20th yet? I know you said you really like TAD pre's...

Not yet Bro... And, having said 'yet', I doubt I will. I really dug the change up to TAD's in a couple of my other amps (older VH4, Soldano, etc) but I really truly believe that the top-grade Chinese varietal are the biz for this amp. I've spoken to Charley and he said the same - why blow the cake on pre's when this amp was DESIGNED around Chinese/Shuguang 12AX7B/C preamps? Now, as for power tubes, ya, sometime down the road these JJ's are gonna get ditched. But overall, this thing has sounded so amazingly awesome, I've just not even been tempted to muck around with the glass.

12AX7B or C, the Chinese/Shuguang - they're the best for this amp... I've talked this to death with some higher end studios and some Bogner musicians and their techs - it always comes down to the same thing - the power valves get changed for personal preference, the pre's stay Chinese.

Peace,
V.

Im running the TC Nova Reverb in my parallel loop,is that one a delay?

Yes it is the Nova Repeater not the Nova Delay. I got it because it had kill dry and I figured I would use the parallel loop but so far I am liking the serial loop best and using the Nova Repeaters mix, it keeps the dry ratio sounding good and I notice no tone suck from this thing in the Bogner loop. I wish it had presets, but it is simple to use and has great delay sounds.
