On the appearance, design, and layout of the Blades Amplifiers:

Appearance
I personally don't have a problem with the lightening bolts and fangs on the front of the head boxes. Okay, I don't like the fangs. I don't hear anyone talking shit about the grill plate on Henning Cherry Bomb? Are cherry bombs cooler looking than lightening bolts and snake fangs? Hardly! Henning is using a more professional looking metal grill accoutrement, but the Blades Amplification is a new company... Give the guy some time to make a few bucks, and I'm sure you'll see some forward development.

Design
Let's get a look at the Cherry Bomb schematics, and lets see if Henning hasn't used any ideas from previous designs. How about Dave Friedman's BE100? Or Suhr's (Guy Hedrick) '68 Plexi... All tube amplifier circuits are variations of a singular concept, hence they (with exception to Guytron GT) cannot be patented, so please stop the BS complaining about who ripped-off who. If you feel it is wrong for Mr. Blades to use other builders ideas, than why are you playing master volume amplifiers that are not Mesa/Boogie brand?

Layout
Again, Blades Amplification is a new company. That early (Dirty Steve) Firebolt 20 amp pic that the Cameron and Friedman fanboys have been whoring on various forums, is nothing more than an attempt to defame another builder. I've seen MANY hand-wired amplifiers that looked worse, so the speculation surrounding that image is just that - speculation! The amp never caught fire or shorted-out. Dirty Steve took it upon himself to rebuild the circuit, which I must say looked very nice! What happened as a result? Billy learned! What I'm seeing in Blades Amplification is the evolution of a new USA based amplifier company coming into fruition!

Early Blades Forebolt 20...

Now check-out this Mark Cameron modded Marshall amplifier that "Lester" defended by saying something to the effect of; "I don't buy a Cameron modded amp for the way they look... I expect that." I will find the exact quote...

This post is not a response to the detractors. I've posted this as an archive resource, specifically for those of you who are researching Blades Amplification with the possibility of purchasing.

Oh.

Uh, Henning amps is a new company as well, so your comment holds no water. The difference between Steve Henning and Billy Blades is:

1 - Steve did it properly right out of the gate. There were no early run Cherry Bombs fashioned from pastel coloured driftwood with a circuit wired with a bird's nest of tangled lamp cord, and

2 - Steve is a respectable and articulate individual, whereas, from all outward appearances, Billy Blades is an idiot.

Has anyone purchased one and actually looked inside? Does he build each amp or sub out?

Yes, I know that. Does he hand-wire each himself or workers that do it?

Yes, cherry bombs are much, much cooler than snake fangs and lightning bolts
I've read Steve's post's for years and never once did I think he was an idiot. He's a straight shooter who would never stoop to the bullshit that BB has over the past few years. To even mention them in the same sentence is to give billy the shit shoveler way too much credit ;)
All I have to do is see BB's name and I instantly think "idiot"
If I read any further, I'm instantly reminded of why that first comes to mind.

Awesome! I don't use Teflon coated pans since purchasing my Stonedine cookware. You can actually taste the difference using the stonedine. Not quite the same as using cast iron, but the flavor is there. Clean-up is a breeze!

I have never heard steve talk about how his build is the best in the world, that he surpassed every other amp builder, that some sort of divine inspiration (billys substitution words for his utter insanity and maniacal personality disorder, he infuriated so many people with his childish online antics that he brought this all on himself) was what brought about his amp designs, or started ripping other mod guys/amp builders to pieces basically for no reason, he was mad at Cameron and decided to lump every other builder in with him and then declare it a conspiracy to keep the prices up and only in the hands of ROCK ROYALTY TM, Steve would never do that, he has something called integrity and self respect, 2 things billy lacks tremendously in!! and yes, the cherry bomb grill looks much cooler than the fangs TM, lightning bolts TM, and the cup holder TM and HANDLE TM!! whereas Steve's amps appear to have some class and are aesthetically pleasing, the blades amps are eye sores that look like childrens toys. big, big difference between the two!! shit, I better watch out or I will be SLICED BY THE BLADEZ!!

Don't be fooled by search engine results... I typed-in "Stonedine on Amazon.com", and it defaulted to a product known as Stoneline! If you want authentic Stonedine cookware, you'll need to contact them direct via phone. Takes like 3-4 days for delivery.

Maybe BB should have teflon coated the insides of the chassis on the early stuff to help clean up all the solder drippings
carry on
