So any RT'ers going to pickup an Evil Pumpkin? I was definitely going to but shot my load into that Fryette Ultralead I always wanted.... I think I'm out. Still curious how the EP will sound though.
My tomcat isn't confused in no way, as you easily can see.311splawndude":tmwj2qe9 said:Even my own cats are confused?

I don't know all of the details of your situation, but it sounds like someone stole your ideas, and you are pissed. But don't be so pissed that you spite yourself. Also, you should rethink profiling your amps. If they are good people will buy them, and your amps as well. I mainly use an AX8 these days, but I still love tube amps, and am shopping for one now. If you leave that profile money on the table someone else is going to scoop it up, leaving you twice fucked. Anyway, good luck to you.novosibir":3l9ldtgo said:All my amps do have a built in sensor for Kemper and similar gear.crankyrayhanky":3l9ldtgo said:Somebody profile these amps please
As soon as i.e. a Kemper comes closer than 50 ft. to my amps, the built in bomb is exploding and is smashing the entire circuit of the amp.
But be aware, these sensors are so intelligent, that they even detect Kempers also then, when it is connected through long mic or speaker cables.
No Larry amp user ever would risk, that his amp might being damaged due to those kind of conspirative maggots
I think it’s more to point out what has happened, rather than try to garner more business. Fortin buyers aren’t Larry buyers, and vice versa. With a 2 yr+ wait and a cost of 6K, his clientele is clearly smaller in number and pretty well defined. Studios and dudes with some serious cash to spend. Same guys that might bid on a Dumble, or a vintage 60s strat for example.voodooradio1":3ockaq6x said:I don't know all of the details of your situation, but it sounds like someone stole your ideas, and you are pissed. Hahah... no shit huh? I'm wondering if the Cali can get EP tones with a boost or something I like the Cali size and weight for rehearsals thats for sure.mhenson42":2nvi37he said:errrrrl":2nvi37he said:So any RT'ers going to pickup an Evil Pumpkin? I’m probably gonna buy one. I like my Cali and this looks like it’s right up my ally.

You know I never really took a good look or rather listen to the Purple Nightmare... I have so many expensive ass amps on my "list" already and just don't want to think about adding more I should probably check them out though. Man even that Armored Sabot thing sounds pretty cool for what it is. Well I hope you get something good man So many awesome choices nowadays.DeathbyButterslax":2nvi37he said:errrrrl":2nvi37he said:So any RT'ers going to pickup an Evil Pumpkin? I’m still stuck on what next myself, there is a guy locally with a Driftwood Purple Nightmare for sale so I might go that route, everything about it just sounds fuckin gnarley

Even for more brutalish modern metal? I thought it was just another refined 5150
I don’t remember it being much like a 5150. I didn’t own any 5150 type amp at the time, but a 5150 would be from what I remember more raw, saturated, compressed and more growl/aggression on power chordsDeathbyButterslax":3dre4fdv said:braintheory":3dre4fdv said:I owned a Driftwood Purple Nightmare and wasn’t too impressed. I had at the time a Wizard, Mark IIC+, Gower modded Marshall and Friedman Phil X, and others I can’t recall, and the Driftwood was unimpressive in comparison. It was more polite/restrained sounding, not as chunky or tight on palm mutes as those amps, nowhere near the aggressive or raw growl I look for, sounded kinda clinical/inorganic. I just didn’t find it that inspiring to play. It was decent overall I guess, but for the price there’s many more better amps out there.
I remember also trading a Les Paul Custom shortly after getting that amp for a Mezzabarba Mzero OD and that also smoked it, even though that amp also eventually got dethroned

Yeah if it’s local you should try one just to confirm. I’d recommend though directly comparing it with something else if you can because the amp can in some ways seem promising at first, but I think if you can AB it with a really great amp you’ll likely agree with me about itDeathbyButterslax":2kdqht9k said:braintheory":2kdqht9k said:I don’t remember it being much like a 5150. That’s too bad, I’ve heard good things... I might have to find out anyways, but I get what you’re saying on it. Wizard MTL might be the next option, if one comes up for a decent price

Why do I feel like I just saw his "oh face"?
I may be in the minority, but I've never been a huge fan of his. I love the fluidity of his legato lines, and he has a better melodic sense than a lot of shred-era guitarists, but I've never been blown away by his playing. Nothing he's doing wrong, just not my tastes.
