It just appears to me that he has time, money and a penchant for detail
penchant for detail - almost pathological, yes :D

money - hmm... I can't complain about this :)

time - no, not really and the word boredom isn't found in my dictionary

Besides building my amps I always still are doing much R&D fo future projects and yes, there still something will be coming on amp's heaven

But sometimes I also are doing something for myself, to allow myself a pleasure.

The last weekend I've completely spent for building my new vintage Strat since the wood finally went in from US Custom Guitars:

"penchant for detail" have spent 3 hours only for cleaning the neck pocket of the body and to optimize the body-neck-contact
And have spent another 3 hours only for filing, grinding & polishing the bone nut - all by hand, no machine was used

each amp is dialed in by him one at time.
Correct and what means, that after I've placed my last solder joint, not as usual at other amp builders, who push in tubes, adjust bias, a quick test drive and ready for shipping - no, after the last solder joint the electrolytics become formed in a 36 hour process, then tubes are pushed in, but sometimes I spend a half day swapping tubes back & forth, since each preamp tube is sounding slightly different to the next - the amp will be fired up 6 to 8 times every day over the next 2 days - each time about 20 to 30 minutes test drive, followed by 2 hours fired up for burning in, listening to the background noise and sometimes the one or other preamp tube has to be swapped, if it starts strange noise after 6, 10 or 15 operating hours - after each 2 hours operating switching off & cooling down for about one hour - bias & voltages will be checked several times, to observe a possible output tube drift and many more... since my 'kids' should leave the house absolutely heathy

This...is awesome!

The man takes an OCD approach, which is great when you're coughing up 6K.

Iced earth is not major ass band IMo sorry maybe in Europe?

Not "major" as in the way of everyone's favourite dad rock bands here. But the last 5 albums have all been in Billboard top 100. These long running metal bands usually have a rather dedicated fanbase.

I would love to hear clips, but I guess it isn't going to happen. Oh well. At this point I am over it. No longer interested in beating a dead horse again. And again. And shit, why not another time.

Larry is one weird dude. People ask for clips, and he posts pictures of a red partscaster...yet again. I’m pretty sure almost every amp company in existence posts clips of their amp line.

For once we agree. Lol. If I was a top notch amp builder I would have clips EVERYWHERE. lol.

If money wasn't a problem (as Larry repeatedly says it's not), I would pay someone a few hundred bucks to get some badass clips of the amp on the web.

I don't like Reza but that is unrelated, but still.

I am sure there are plenty of good guitarists in Germany who would chomp at the bit to play and record a demo on one.

Wait. Did I agree with Krull?

Hmmmm. I must have taken all of my Haldol.

??

Google "Iced Earth" and you'll find plenty of stuff like hundreds if not thousands of videos and music. This band Iced Earth, is huge, 13 studio albums alone! WTF is a iPhone video? Seriously, some idiot with a 59 Les Paul through a Dumble will sound like a million dollars because it's worth a million dollars right? Wrong!

Look, we all know that a 5150 or a Boogie Mark 3 will get you there!!!! No Larry or Fortin or fucking Dumball amp will ever actually be better when all is said and done!! Oops, duh, like I said, we all know that, but vanity is vain. I want and will own a Larry. I want, I get. Very very vain but that's why I read this shit and post this crap.

"I'd trade it all for just a little bit more" - what Mr. Burns said after Homer Simpson asked him what it is like to be the richest man in the world. That's me and my tone quest.

One more thing [UNRELATED]. None of us have would have EVER heard of Monomyth without the clips he had posted. He is climbing his way up fast in my book.

Monomyth IS an up and coming.

I don't care much about what other amp companies are doing - it's their decision, to do this & that and to omit other things.

I'm not the others ;)
