FORTIN's Evil Pumpkin – Made in China?

At this point idgaf where amps are made, I just want a good amp. My first inquiry was Tapp to see if I could get a Marzian but no reply and he hadn't been on/can't do big production, etc. My next and what ill probably end up with is the MI Megalith.

But out of every amp clip ive heard theres just something about the EP that brings me back. Sounds sick AF. Idc what Krudd believes or anyone else thinks is true. Like I said, I heard from someone whos on good terms with Fortin has bought their expensive products, etc about this possible issue so I inquired. No real response, no reply to direct pm and if im not mistaken they removed the other EP video off their website. If theyre using different parts it wont be the same amp and that's all im asking. Lots of red flags for me to drop $3k

Yep. Ridiculous fleecing going on if indeed the amp is made in China. And, anyone knows that different brands of capacitors/resistors/Transformers WILL make a difference in the tone. Fact. So, if the NAMM Amp(Sorry I though the clip sucked rancid ass, at least one that was posted here..maybe there's another?) is not made of the same exact parts..not just the values, same exact parts...then that's pretty clear to me that this is a bait n switch.

I have no experience with Fortin on the level of ownership nor do I have an axe to grind, but they are on the sketchy side. Even just with the zuul being ripped off of Marshall, which has been confirmed is enough for me to question their ethics. Then it just goes down the line of offenses. This is completely disregarding the Larry bullshit, as that has not been confirmed.

No! Not yours; I didn’t even know you made one. This was a clip by the same guy that owns a Larry; pretty obvious he isn’t a very experienced player. You are a very good player and I’ve enjoyed your clips. I’ll take a listen...

ha! Thanks man. I was being cheeky, but yeah check it out. You may still not dig it but I think the KK channel sounds fantastic. I had it mic'd with a 609 at NAMM. It is what it is given the context.

So now this amp has reached Soldano SLO status. If it doesn’t have the exact same parts as the one at NAMM it’s not gonna sound as good

Anyway, I did get the reply to my email.

I was told the parts are not an issue like I was told and that it will be the same amp. The factory is closed which was kind of what I figured the flip side of the coin would be.

Also that it wasnt made in China but I never believed that it was or even cared where. It's now well known theyre sourced, regardless of whatever people thought before.

Anyway, dude replied and answered my questions so wanted to update since I posted about it.

Have no idea. Judging from YouTube, it seems like a fixed setting of the Cali without all the options. The EP channel sounded better for rhythm to me so naturally the KK would be my lead channel or maybe crunch. Im sure someone could have the opposite preference then me But some of the Cali clips here sound great either way.

I can't, in all good conscience, own an amp unless it's made in a sweat shop factory by 12 year old chinese kids. I'll substitute an adult sweatshop worker, but only after he's tried to kill himself 3 times for terrible work conditions. Something about literally pouring your soul into work like that really nails down that grindy tone for me. American made amps just don't have it.

Nope, just coming back in every little bit to remind everyone how little actual information is in this. I'm not going to argue on forums anymore, I have WAY too much to do.

Take your " doth protest too much". and use it with the few guys trying to do a pile-on in multiple threads, spewing nonsense and flat out making shit up because they don't have anything better to do, that would make more sense than a guy copy/pasting reality every couple weeks.
