Just to clarify again, despite all the nonsense, all of this is true, and the EVIL PUMPKIN is handmade in WuHan PRC using the cheapest child labor we could find. Small hands work best populating these small boards. Just popping in every couple weeks to remind everyone how much scary factual information is in this thread. If anyone is interested in the EP, feel free to hit us up. Looks like the first run is still stuck in customs quarantine! Be sure to check out our new amp... the Custom Covid Crusher.
Cheers guys!

Fixed.

I'm not going to argue on forums anymore, I have WAY too much to do.

Someone's gotta rep that WORLDWIDE Candian-Chinese Ramen Empire right!

So yeah, carry on gents. Better to listen to a few dudes on forums than people that actually know what they are speaking about and have literally stood in factory right next to the small orphaned Asian children building these amps, and have helped with the project for well over a year and a half. You do you. This would have been removed from any other forum 25 pages again, because it is clearly SPAM. Only on RT does moderation not really exist, so here we are. Anymore man-boobs though? That part was fun. :)

Fixed. Again.

The only part you got right, was about your drivel not being SPAMMED anywhere else. They'd delete it and ban you as before. And just a reminder to all those out there inter-web land:

Some of the forums Zach Khunty aka engage757 has been banned from:

Peeps... go to

http://www.sevenstring.org
http://www.metalguitarist.org
http://www.talkbass.com
https://www.espguitars.com/forums
https://www.facebook.com/groups/HEAVYME ... ANDPEDALS/

Search user: engage757 and see what it says next to his name... BANNED... from at least 5 different gear forums... and many more.

For some light reading on Fartin Amps shit-faced rep’s background:

https://www.sevenstring.org/threads/eng ... im.303605/

Zach would oh-so love to SPAM other forums as well. But that's impossible because he has been banned from most all of them. Anyone want to buy an James Hetfield Artist Signed Kiesel guitar... Hetfield never actually endorsed Kiesel or touched the guitar... but it's still a great deal.

And just to wet your appetite:

He doth protest too much.

Nope, just coming back in every little bit to remind everyone how little actual information is in this. I'm not going to argue on forums anymore, I have WAY too much to do.

Take your " doth protest too much". and use it with the few guys trying to do a pile-on in multiple threads, spewing nonsense and flat out making shit up because they don't have anything better to do, that would make more sense than a guy copy/pasting reality every couple weeks. I actually know, they don't. They are trying to cause issues, and it isn't going to for us, at all. Not even remotely close actually.

So when are they shipping?

Certainly odd... The amp's back pictured on their website says "Handbuilt By Fortin Amplification, Inc." in Whitby, ON Canada. Must be the prototype to jumpstart preorders, before the bait & switch.

https://www.fortinamps.com/wp-content/u ... caled.jpeg

I thought it was priced lower, initially as well.

Benefit of the doubt, maybe Mike built the prototype?

I'm sure he did.

How do you mix FX for the parallel return? Usually there’s an FX mix knob.

Hey!! I would meet up with anyone here!!
Few drinks. Shoot the shit!
Not into violence myself.

Only if you promise to wear the daisy-dukes and some pumps. Ummm... yeah.

 :emofag: :grim:

Why was he calling you Jennifer? I'm really hung up on this..... Are you a bro or not?

Got to page 11 and can't do anymore of this.
Two questions:
1) Has this man's question been resolved?
2) Anything worth the headache past p.11?

The only thing I remember is that the loose cannon Fortin PR guy got canned. Lol. That alone gives me closing in this bullshit. And there are Larry clips out too. Underwhelming IMO. Not $6k great.

I think that about sums it up nicely

I know this isn't the gear page but do we have any patent lawyers here? I'm curious how much of a modification is needed to be considered a different circuit.

Has it ever happened?

I don't think that has ever happened, someone actually won a lawsuit against an amp manufacturuer. It would be almost impossible to not have at least one different resistor or a slightly different component that would void the "copyright" argument.

I've never heard of it myself, but I'm a dumb dumb.

The only one I can think of, is in the late 70's...Peavey sued Earth Amps over copyright infringement and won. They were doing direct/exact ripoffs of Peavey amps.

I know you can patent an amp feature. Mesa did it with the simul-class back in the day. But patents only last so long before they become public domain. Every high gain amp is based on another amp to some degree. So does Larry amps even have a leg to stand on legally? I'm not a fan of Fortin. But from the design prospective it seems like most most high gain amps ripped off the jose mod to some degree. From the clips neither the Larry or the Fortin sound more unique than a Fryette. That's not a shot at either company. Both sound like hot rodded marshall which is my favorite tone.

I guess my question is: How much would a circuit need to change in order for it to be considered an original idea? There is only so much room for new features when compared to cost, and tonally it's a very narrow spectrum of what is considered to sound pleasing in a guitar tone.

I'm not an EE nor a patent lawyer but it was my understanding that in order for that to be a thing:

a.) Larry would need to have a pretty unique design element
b.) Larry would need to have registered that officially as intellectual property (IP)
c.) Larry would need to have proven that his design was unique and proactively protected it himself

It doesn't appear any of these things were done.

There was a deeper discussion about this in this thread around Feb 19th, 2020:

search.php?keywords=Larry+%2B+Trademark&terms=all&author=&sc=1&sf=all&sk=t&sd=d&sr=posts&st=0&ch=300&t=0&submit=Search

Mike Fortin didn't do anything illegal per say. I think it is his morals and marketing that come into question.
