where in ny?? this guy is the certified tech for mesa and a bunch of other companies everyone around here goes to, he thought it was something underneath one of the boards with the solid core wiring or something, not sure why he didnt want to deal but hes another one backed up for months so who knows, ive talked to henric about it and ive just been busy and lazy to get it packed up and sent
John Nau is Rochester is pretty handy.

My settings are wild . Do you have a Koko boost v1 ? I boost my Hermanson with it . No joist on the hell razor

Dude I cant even get past using the 1st gain knob on the hell razor, I wouldn’t even dream of using a boost on the HR lol

But no I do not have a Koko boost, I just have the Friedman buxom boost which I’ll turn on every now and then for fun

I’ll be doing a clip with line out from power station and some IRs lol

I don’t own any mics and am not planning on going down that rabbit hole this year 🤣

You can have all the shitty iPhone clips you want too lol

No clue on how much customs will be, I’ll find out when i get the bill 🤣🤣
Alright. Thanks. No need to go down the Rabbit Hole. Just buy a SM57. :D

yeah even back then i saw boards and the huge trannies, i thought it was all but a go and havent heard anything since. maybe he is just that busy if hes got a years long waiting list, im sure having the meshuggah dudes and tremonti and whoever else brought tons of eyes to him. im surprised we never heard anything from ola about them either
That made me wonder too. No Clips in the wild.

@Ola Englund can you go to Henric Hermanssons shop and do a coffee with him...make Henric come to your studio and do a coffee with you?

why haven't you chugged on his amps?!

plz respong

btw, anyone imported an amp from a european country? based on everything i see, there should be no import duty...

free if you're only importing 1 unit...thoughts?

Ok, fair enough. When you are ready buy a SM57 :D
What interface do you got?

bro when i'm ready, i'm going to buy one of every mic the store has lol...but don't know when that'll be because i dont even have enough time to practice guitar let alone start looking into microphones lololol...someday!

interface is apollo twin that i've had forever...it keeps turning on so i keep using it lol

i'll send the line out from the powerstation and try with various IR's. Won't be any effects on the clip so that will help lol

Not sure if it’s an import duty tax but there is I believe a tax for guitars not manufactured in the USA. Someone else just ran into this when importing a made in USA Fender guitar that required that reasoning to file paperwork at customs to get their tax removed. Not sure if you will get hit since the donor amp isn’t based in the USA.

Maybe I am missing something but the amp is just being shipped back. You paid for a service? Why should it be taxed?

so a couple of things that i've learned this morning:

1. if the amp was manufactured in the US, no import duty (according to HH, his mesa mods dont' incur a duty going back into the US)

2. if i already owned the amp, potentially no import duty but sort of a grey area

3. in my case, i purchased the amp from Henric before the mod work began and it was also manufactured outside of the US...granted that occurred in the 80s lol, but definitely eligible for import duty

4. according to the HTS schedule though, the category of item that guitar amps fall into, there is no duty applied so while its eligible for duty imposition, a rate of 0% will(should?) result in no duty...

5. if you were to buy a service in an amp repair shop in the states, you'd get charged your local tax. when i get the amp through customs, they'll notify tennessee department of revenue and in some months/years i'll get a call from someone telling me i owe the state 9.25% of the total declared value lol. this happened to me in 2024...for guitars i bought in 2020 lololol!
