That’s awesome, very cool looking amp too! Appreciate you sharing, hope yours gets fixed up soon for more awesome clippage!

thanks! i wanted something unique and it sure is that. crazy its been almost 6 years already, i thought he was about to be done with mods and doing his own line back then and wanted to get something before that happened, i dont know whats up with his actual line

Dude I’ve been thinking the same, I’ve been on the list for a few years now. I tried asking about it but didn’t get an answer so didn’t push it in case it’s a sore spot for whatever reason. I’m assuming he’s been having a tough time being a small builder competing for components in this post-COVID world but hopefully he gets his own line out soon, I think it’ll do very well given all the major modern acts he’s made amps for.

Also surprising is that I’ve never heard Ola mention him or demo his amp. I feel like it would be right up his holy chugsters alley haha

Ffs theyre both in Sweden and I don’t think it’s a massive country lol

yeah even back then i saw boards and the huge trannies, i thought it was all but a go and havent heard anything since. maybe he is just that busy if hes got a years long waiting list, im sure having the meshuggah dudes and tremonti and whoever else brought tons of eyes to him. im surprised we never heard anything from ola about them either

One thing that puzzles me is why he blacks out the values of some resistors. Like I get it when it comes to components that might be unique values that other builders aren't using in certain spots/combinations. But he takes the time to sharpie a vintage Piher or Beyschlag resistor that's just a normal B+ dropper and has no real proprietary/secret sauce effect. But at least he doesn't goop the amp.

That said, nice builds for sure. I have no idea what's going in them lol

I believe he also scrapes off the writing on his film capacitors with a flat razor blade. His wire management is so well done that even if the values were visible, it would be impossible to try to decipher through images. Obviously many components read incorrectly in circuit, which when combined with sharpied values and scraped off capacitor markings, makes it much more challenging for anyone while still looking neat. I much prefer sharpie over epoxy or silicone if you must feel the need to hide resistor values. I wonder what he’s using to drill through the chassis so cleanly myself and that laser table is pure awesome. Does he laser inscribe the chassis or is that an emblem?

I asked him if he’d go on Tonetalk cause Dave wants him to come on. He said “once I launch my amp line, I will”….lol when Henric, when…blink twice if this year haha

I never connected the dots that they were both in Sweden. Odd that Ola hasn’t demoed his amps. Maybe it’s on purpose to keep a reasonable log?

i guess that could be, i didnt realize it was a years long waiting list, i guess you can only do so much

this is it, unfortunately its cutting in and out and the local amp guru here cant seem to figure it out so im probably gonna have to send it back for a tune up.

heres a metallica clip i did a while back

I’m not sure how savvy your guy is so I’m only making a general comment - but cutting in and out is normally a problem with a loose preamp tube socket. Amp may just need the pins tightened. I’ve also experienced that with a cracked presence pot trace which opens the DC bias for the phase inverter. Just some ideas to pass along.

I have some great techs in the NY area I use if your's can't get it going

where in ny?? this guy is the certified tech for mesa and a bunch of other companies everyone around here goes to, he thought it was something underneath one of the boards with the solid core wiring or something, not sure why he didnt want to deal but hes another one backed up for months so who knows, ive talked to henric about it and ive just been busy and lazy to get it packed up and sent

In Long Island. I currently also have 2 amps at a tech I'm trying in Manhattan that I heard really great things about. I may use him more if he does well since that's way easier for me than going all the way to LI. The guy in LI is certified for Diezel, Engl, many other brands, in fact Mike Bendinelli himself has called him for tech advice before. I currently have 2 Mesa's he's working on (brought many others in the past). He saved a couple of my amp's lives that other techs couldn't
