OK, let's say it's not about being jealous...then, what is the point? Why all of the anger toward someone who has not harmed you directly? I've read interviews were Malmsteen is being a complete shit and I saw a video of Nuno Bettencourt throwing his guitar across the stage at a roady 'cause it wasn't in tune yet I don't see any where near the bitching about them as I see about EVH.
I'm not trying to be a fanboy of EVH. In fact, although I respect him as a player, I've never been a big fan of the band...just not my style of music. It's just that I see SO much hatred directed his way it really makes me wonder why so much is directed his way and not nearly as much elsewhere. It's like he's everyone's favorite whipping boy here and on HC.
If you look at the history of his interactions with his bandmates, you'll see that he is quite an asshole and doesn't really seem to care about the fans any.

Here's my quick $.02
EVH and Roth are both world class assholes. I've never met either one of them but I can guarantee you that I couldn't spend 5 minutes in the same room with either one, let alone both. Just watch some interviews with them, that last namm presentation with EVH is a prime example. No wonder things can't work with Van Halen, it's amazing that two egos that big could coexist as long as they did. With that said I dig the fuck out of old VH and when Eddie's 97 he'll still be able to play me under the table. No I'm not an EVH fanboy and yes there are better players out there but I'll give Eddie his kudos for what he did in his day, all of that crap is subjective anyway.
Tom Morello= a big MEH for me but whatever you like. As far as his politics I find him to be living in a dream world just like the rest of the "far left" for lack of a better term. I also think the same thing about the ultra right wing. Those types on either side couldn't be more wrong, it's not a perfect world. It's easy to get sucked into radical ideas when you don't take the time to make your own analysis, most of the time the answers are somewhere in the middle.

I find it funny that everyone confuses Communism with an oligarchy. True Communism according to the manifesto written by Karl Marx is a society where there is no centralized government, where everyone is able to rule themselves, no laws are present and it is a utopia. The true form of communism turns into an oligarchy that leaves the vast amount of the country poor even though communism is supposed to make everyone equal, instead of no laws they have so many stupid laws they have to enforce them by sheer terror. Communism is such a flawed system it makes me laugh just thinking about it. Especially by older people that have no clue. I'm 17 and I get this a lot better than you do apparently.
