Hey guys, got the amp very late today. About 5 o’clock. Haven’t had a ton of time to play around with it. I did a basic AB comparison video, but wasn’t really satisfied with the results. So I didn’t publish it. But I’ll make another one tomorrow that I think will be better when I approach it with fresh ears.

Here are my basic takeaways:

They have similar amounts of gain, but the OG has more. Mine also has the gain boost function which definitely makes it more.

The feel is very different. The reissue is much more stiff my OG is much more saturated and easier to play under the fingers.

The reissue definitely sounds anemic with the input gain and lead gain at seven or less.

The treble on the OG is just much more pleasing for some reason

The graphic EQ are very different. The reissue actually has a much wider range than the OG. If you’re looking for an ultra scooped sound, the reissue is actually better for that.
Some amps need break in time. I have a Fryette that was extremely stiff when new. After some playing time it felt like a different amp.

What an abhorrent comment. At least on RT, blacks, browns, and whites can peacefully coexist. But apparently not reds and blues
And there will come a day when human beings and fish will peacefully coexist. Mark 2C+ my words.

All My Microphones are at my buddies studio so all I had was an Audi I5

Yo! I heard this last, and that one little part inspired me to make this:

Getting back to the subject, I don't hear anything that would make me want to unload the 50 Caliber + or Mark V25 for the reissue.

I'd like to hear one of these A/B'd with a JP-2C to hear how different these amps actually are. I've never really bought into the IIC+ hype and am skeptical (even of the originals). What is it about the IIC+ that people think the JP-2C and other more modern iterations can't pull off?

"thats unfortunate, im always saying the addictive "bounce" is what really makes mine stand apart from other amps, especially when really laying down a thrashing, nailing that to me was the important part"

These ^^^^ comments explain it all. The feel is unique among amps. JP is very stiff feeling in comparison. The clarity is also better than any other Mark, IMO. The C+ clarity makes the 2 Mark IIIs I had sound like they had blankets over the cab.

i read about the hype and the amazing feel and whatever on forums for 20 years and never bought into it, then i found mine locally and i can say for me its all totally true, there is a bounce in the feel that is hard to describe ive not felt in any other amp that is really great fun and it kind of sets it apart for me.
The C+ has more bounce than Dolly Parton running the New York City marathon

I swear to god, these giant ass companies like Gibson/mb and sweetwater doing demos like this is part of a wide reaching problem in the guitar universe where every jackass thinks he can record guitar

Some random mid guitar player with a degree in Communications like Dinesh gets a job at Gibson and all of the sudden a shitter is in charge of the product launch for a legendary product reissue like this, and it goes to shit

I swear to fucking god, why don't these companies hire people like me, or medic, or raceuforher, or any of the other millions of guitar players who are actually knowledgeable on what guitarists want to hear with a demo like this, and how to achieve those tones?

I honestly have no idea what the amp actually sounds like - Frontline did the best job so far, but it was obviously just a quick thing

Are these gear companies completely clueless? I'm legitimately confused.

There has to be millions of guitarists/engineers who could have made this amp sound like the hand of motherfucking GOD on recording, and yet the biggest instrument companies on earth fail over and over and over again.

It reminds me of the iconic launch a bit. Seriously, I used to think these people who ran gear companies actually knew about gear, but apparently they are all fucking morons who have no idea, which is terrifying.

Time to seize the means of amplification.

It's time for companies who want to make money to hire people who can assist them in making money

As mind boggling as it it, that's what it comes down to

They could have sent a reissue to Medic and he would have gotten tones that would triple their sales. Same with me.

It's the most ridiculous thing on planet earth that retards are in charge of this stuff

"Heh, whatever you say bud. Just remember, Play Authentic"

Thanks for showing the secret ingredient! You forgot to hide the "Metal Zone" behind the amp! :ROFLMAO:

Joking aside and great clip. I had not lost faith that the IIC+ RI would sound great and your solid playing demonstrate that amp is tight!

What was the riff at 1:30?
