Try using a drill to twist your wiring. Its extremely quick and comes out very consistent and tight. Then you just unwrap a bit and solder 'em in. I do all my twisted pairs this way in amplifier builds.
Steve
Someone who doesn't seem to know the quickest and easiest way to twist long lengths of heater wires for a production line amplifier building operation. Based purely on the pictures Im seeing and that a number of others are complaining about of course.
!.) He didn't wire those heaters
2.) They are DC and do not require ANY twisting
3.) The guy you are talking to is who Eddie Van Halen chose to get his old number one Marshall back into shape for the new VH record
4.) Dave Friedman doesn't need your help.
Thank you...
Steve
welcome to Rig-Talk, BITCH hahahahaha
just kidding, just kidding. but yeah man might wanna do your research
I know exactly who the guy is. It also looked to me like this simple tip might help streamline these builds.
Oh... so you know who he is and you don't think he's ever heard of this before? You're dumber than I thought...Marykelly":cyc305ot said:Neeklaus":cyc305ot said:sah5150":cyc305ot said:Oh my.... Hey man, we aim to entertain!gtrwun":22cfd6kv said:Lol...I cant help but read these Cameron threads every time I see one. It always turns to shit somehow? Amazing.
I already told you he didn't wire those heaters and that they are DC so they don't need twisting... And what does it matter if I'm 100, if you are gonna act like an ass, I'm gonna call it...Marykelly":37aif4rd said:I saw uneven wiring and I offered a tip. If he had heard of twisting heaters that way then he chose not to do it the easy way. So be it. Your petty name calling is lol-worthy though. Aren't you like 50? Get over yourself.

And FWIW I didn't intend to offend anyone. People chose to take offense which is unfortunate.
You better meet him on the playground at 3:00 and settle this one and for all.gtrwun":2i0eeu34 said:50? Id say there is a whole bunch of us here who are around that age? Got a problem with that?
No... actually someone (me) tried to gently point out that you were giving a common tip to an expert in amp design, building and repair and you said (about Dave, someone you say you knew to be an expert in amp design, building and repairMarykelly":kwc90wxu said:King Guitar":kwc90wxu said:For the record Dave Friedman had nothing to do with the wire twisting, he is a friend, partner and expert we lean on when we have questions. As an expert in e-combat, I highly recommend against him showing!LP Freak":2op3x3tx said:You better meet him on the playground at 3:00 and settle this one and for all.gtrwun":2op3x3tx said:50? Id say there is a whole bunch of us here who are around that age? Got a problem with that?

"Someone who doesn't seem to know the quickest and easiest way to twist long lengths of heater wires for a production line amplifier building operation."
I'd say that was an offensive comment about Dave as well as a stupid one since you purport to know exactly who the guy is...
I win! Yay!
(Waits patiently to see if "Mary" takes the bait...)

I don't want to fight anymore either... e-Hug?Marykelly":3qwxrz15 said:If I showed you those pictures and it was an amp I was building, Im sure you would say "hey consider using a drill to twist those heaters next time, it will be much neater and tighter." Whether or not you give such advice to an expert or an amateur isn't of much consequence. Everyone likes cool tips. Since this design uses DC heaters they're probably just twisting for neatness and the drill would make things oh so pretty. More rigtalkers would salivate over neat and clean wiring and more amps would sell! I dont think we need to fight over this though. I wouldn't want you to break an e-hip
