Neither did space for all intents and purposes because they didn't know about it and that's exactly my point.
Space didn't exist cause everyone called it the heavens and would be wondering WTH you were talking about if you referred to it as "space". Kinda like I'm doing now.

I heard a rumor that Australias space program always fails because you guys are at the bottom of the earth. and rockets just go south and crash. Frankly that is terrible.

Yeah well if we went back to the stone age people would be wondering WTH we are talking about unless we said UGG UGG... but you know things have moved on since pterodactyl barbeques and bashing brains with clubs.

Stone age people didn't have written language so that an old word could be shown to be more historically accurate than a newer word used to sublty alter the original meaning.

We don't have to constrain ourselves to 2000 year old (or older) vocabulary to describe things they didn't know about.

No, we don't. But I choose to. The orthodox faith is not one that embraces innovation or repackaging of long established traditions, ideas, and concepts.

The azoth always manifests itself in mercury, all that glitters is not always gold.

You're presuming they didn't know about these things. Maybe, maybe not. But 'space' existed and God apparently revealed hints of it just like he revealed the creation account itself. Or do you think the writer of Genesis was there for that?

Just you wait until the nurse breaks the thermometer off in your ass..

Then you've got Mercury in Uranus.

No idea. What is beyond the universe as we understand it?

You mentioned that genesis discusses “space” , but I’ve also heard space be described as being outside the firmament, so I didn’t know if the passages you were referring to spoke of what was passed the firmament

There are waters below the firmament and waters above the firmament. Some non ball earth people believe it's water beyond the atmosphere.
